How to fire a Maverick

Would someone mind going through the whole process of how to fire a Maverick please?

 

I have watched vidoes online and I've tried the training mission but I just can't get it to release. Please go slowly and I will try to follow every command. Can you include the keys as well as I have an outdated flightstick.

I will do the basics for you:

 

For the keys, look in the options screen and note them down on a piece of paper

 

For terms like Forward Long and Forward Short etc, long simply means press and hold for a second. Short means press once.

 

1. Enable Laser, Enable TGP (using switches in the cockpit)

2. On the Digital Stores Management page (DSMS) click the MSL button follow by the EOS button, so that it says ON. This enables the seeker head on the maverick. It takes around 3 minutes to cool down. The TGP also has a 3 minute timeout so you must wait until these are working. Also select the Maverick as your current weapon by using the corresponding OSB button on the DSMS page.

3. When the TGP and Mavericks are online, use the TGP to find a target. Do this by making it your Sensor of Interest (SOI). Coolie hat left long or right long depending on which MFD screen. Usually the left.

4. Slew the TGP over your target. Designate with TMS Up Short, then create an SPI (Sensor Point of Interest) by using TMS Up Long

5. Make your Maverick seeker head slew to the same position by using DMS Up Long

6. Make your Maverick SOI. If the seeker head image is in the right MFD, use Coolie hat right long.

7. Use TMS Up Short to lock the seeker head on to the target

8. Fire.

 

This is from memory, so it could be slightly off. Someone correct me.

Ensure your Maverick profile weapon delivery system is the same as your weapon mode. By default, they're CCIP, so if you're in CCRP they won't fire.

Right, locate Target with TGP and set as SPI (thats DMS fwd. long). Once it is set as SPI, select Maverick in DSMS and hold China Had fwf long. The Maverick seeker Barrel will move to the SPI (that´s then called slave to SPI).
