Scarecrow Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I've often noticed my CDU displaying Mark Z info and now that it has a TAD symbol it got me wondering why does it do this, what is triggering it?
Mud Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Mark Z is a weapon event mark. So where you fire your gun or drop a bomb, this will become Mark Z automatically. 1 Spoiler W10-x64 | B650E Gigabyte Aorus Master | AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D | Noctua NH-D15 G.Skill Trident ZS Neo DDR5-6000 64Gb | MSI RTX 3080ti Gaming X Asus Xonar AE | VPforce Rhino + TM Hotas Warthog MFG Crosswind pedals | Valve Index
KKR75 Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Mark Z is a mark point that gets created automatically every time a weapon (from your aircraft of course) gets fired. It represents the impact point of said weapon. This mark point gets "overwritten" by each subsequent weapon firing.
miguelaco Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Little OT, but since 1.1.0.9, last markpoint is displayed in TAD along usual waypoints when in FLT PLAN mode and MISSION. Very handy!

miguelaco Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Negative. You can have two added symbols on TAD since 1.1.0.9. Mark Z symbol (white triangle) and last markpoint (square as usual). Dunno what happens when mark Z is also the last markpoint. Still got to try it.
Joni Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 i thought you needed to activate Mark mode on the UFC. Firehead Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 The "mark" setting will allow you to use Z-mark as a steer point, in addition to any other points that you set using TMS Right (short).
Joni Posted July 29, 2015 Posted July 29, 2015 roger that Intel Core i5-8600k + Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO | Gigabyte GTX 1070 Aorus 8G | 32GB DDR4 Corsair Vengance LPX Black 3200MHz | Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 3 | WD Black SN750 NVMe 500GB | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB | WD Green 240GB | WD Caviar Black 1TB SATA 3 | WD Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 3 | EVGA 650 GQ 80+ Gold | Samsung CF391 Curved 32" | Corsair 400C | Steelseries Arctis 5 --- Razer Kraken X Lite | Logitech G305 | Redragon Dyaus 2 K509 | Xbox 360 | Saitek X-52 Pro | Thrustmaster TWCS | TrackIR 5
PFunk1606688187 Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 My likely fallible recollection is that Mark Z is skipped by the CDU when its moving through the alphabet as you create mark points manually. Warning: Nothing I say is automatically correct, even if I think it is.
Scarecrow Posted August 9, 2015 Author Posted August 9, 2015 This brought back some memories. I think we were just months away from the NTTR back then aswell:music_whistling: jk
