spearsd Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 Hi, all, Maybe, I'm missing something, but I'm trying to purchase a second (and possibly 3rd) copy of Flaming Cliffs using the same user ID, but All I get is an option to download (not buy). Can someone please tell me how to do this without creating another account? Thanks, -spearsd
coldcrew Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 what's so difficult about creating a new account? THeir system obviously isn't designed to support multiple purchases from a single account
spearsd Posted August 14, 2005 Author Posted August 14, 2005 what's so difficult about creating a new account? THeir system obviously isn't designed to support multiple purchases from a single account Nothing is difficult about creating two more accounts to purchase FC. I just don't think it should be necessary. Speaking of obvious, what's so difficult about supporting purchase of multiple copies of FC on one account? BTW... have you ever thought about taking remedial customer relations classes? :-)
wolf8218 Posted August 14, 2005 Posted August 14, 2005 hes not an employee of ED, though he is right theres nothing hard about creating a new account.

BAT502 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Why would you want to purchase a 2nd and 3rd copy? When you can download it as many times as you like. Going on from that my Brother-in-law wants Flaming Cliffs. Is there a problem for him to go into my account, downloading FC and using my activation key. Is this legal?

Yes, it is most likley illegal and secondly, his hardware configuration would differ significantly from yours. therefore each time you played you would have to reactivate. 15 activations wouldnt last long in this case.
Guest ruggbutt Posted August 27, 2005 Posted August 27, 2005 Tell your bro in law to buy his own copy. Ed deserves to get paid for their work and if someone else is using your copy, that's tantamount to stealing.

Many thanks for your answer and he is going to get his own copy but not sure what you mean by the above statement. Because I am now currently downloading a new copy because I have used several activations. With this new download will the 15 activations start again? Answers much appreciated.
spearsd Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 Ugh! You mean I didn't have to pay for it? Just kidding!!!

No, your activations will not start again. You can download the program as many times as you like. The copy protection system analyses you hardware configuration. If this changes then you have to reactivate the software. your hardware configuration is pretty much unique so unless he has an identical system then a reactivation will be required. once he has done this then you would have to reactivate when you next ran the sim. Good to hear he is getting his own anyway :)
