Irregular programming Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 So I flew the first night mission since early beta and I can't seem to be able to see the beam from the pod. Night vision is on and the pod set to laser both, am I forgetting something silly? (no track, but I can put one up if it's not something obvious that I missed) Also the night hud is now unusable where as the day hud is crisp clear with night vision on, I don't think this is how it's supposed to be?

Both should work (OSB7), but I know for sure IR works as I used it last night. As to the night hud has been identified on the testers side v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website
Irregular programming Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 Ok thank you, I'll try again when I get back from work.
GGM Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 You can see only IR beam not laser. [sigpic][/sigpic]
Snoopy Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 You can see only IR beam not laser. What I meant by Both is you have LSR, IR, and BOTH. When you select BOTH it should be both the LSR & IR so you should be able to see it, haven't verified though. v303d Fighter Group Discord | Virtual 303d Fighter Group Website

Irregular programming Posted August 4, 2011 Author Posted August 4, 2011 I must write this down as a PEBKAC error because when I got home everything just worked gallantly. So, thanks again.

Your nosewheel steering button (insert), should get the laser on. make sure both pod and laser are switched to the above position. And you have to have a point track mode. slug88 Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 And you have to have a point track mode. No you don't. The tracking mode has nothing to do with whether the laser/ir-pointer shines or not. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Phuz Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 for awesome fun try shining the ir beam at a buddy's cockpit while he is using nvg at night
Frostiken Posted August 5, 2011 Posted August 5, 2011 I think I know what IrregProg is talking about. There was one time I was flying at night, everything was set up as it should, and I couldn't see the pointer beam. I checked, double-checked, still nothing. I tried at a later flight and everything was fine. It may be just one of those tiny bugs that pops up now and again. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
