Hi all,

I've been trying for the past few days to mod the MiG-31 to the M version. Basically, I wanted to add two more pylons (if successful, add the ECM to the wingtips) to the aircraft. When I tried it though all the pylons ended up on the right hand side of the wing (Basically I just copied the data from the existing pylon list and added two more pylons (no.7 and no.8 ). Can anyone please help me to put the pylons in correct order. I've been trying for days but can't figure it out as I'm doing all this for the first time and have no experience whatsoever. helpsmilie.gif

Also, when trying to edit some files I found that the R-37 missile code in the missilesdata.lua file but could not find the corresponding CLSID for that missile. Is it possible to create a new CLSID for that or is the CLSID available some place else?

I don't know if you can add more pylons to a plane but I know for sure that you can add missiles to the game. For generating CLSID look for GUIDgen but I guess you will find the CLSID for R-37 in names.lua.

Thanks so much guys for the replies. I almost lost hope that there is no answer to this one (well i guess there is still not) but at least there is some answer...

I guess we can't add more pylons to the stock model of the MiG-31 but can we add them to a new model of the MiG-31?

Thanks combatace... will look into it today when i get back from work.

Me and modelling are very far apart but I can always try only because I adore this aircraft and it should get the respect it deserves... any suggestions?

Well the first important thing is the flight model of R-37 is not designed properly so it will just go fly straight to target rather than taking lofted trajectory.

Also if you want you can add ECM directly to it by adding the ECM line in Mig-29S©. You can use N-011M rather than Zaslon and you can configure R-33 to work as R-37, only if you know the right parameters.

I was thinking the exact same thing about configuring the R-33 to the R-37. I believe I know the parameters you are talking about. Nice idea about adding the ECM line of the MiG-29S to the MiG-31.. never thought of that but I will try that too when I get back home today.

Regarding the N-011M, I believe the Zaslon is still better but I would like to know why you recommend the N-011M. IIRC there is some code in the sensors.lua file related to the Zaslon having multi-targeting capability. Can that be enabled for the player? :book:
