I had sound in flight and I was using the time accelerate and when I came out of it I lost sound.

I only have no sound in flight. The menu clicks sound normal. I have updated DirectX, uninstalled/reinstalled, tried uninstalling, deleting the folder, then reinstalling. No luck.

My next attempt will be to install to a different drive. Unless I get some help before getting home from work

Installing and re-installing is the hard way around. There is a settings issue in game setting that is. Check your DX log file to see what it is. or copy and paste it here for us to view. And you do have sound in all other apps. on this PC right?

Any suggestions for anything to try to get sound back? Last night I even tried to uninstall it, delete the files in the User Folder, deleted the main folder, reinstalled DirectX, reinstalled the game and still no luck

You need to reset the Default Play back of your sound card.

Description: Speakers (Creative SB X-Fi)

Default Sound Playback: No

Default Voice Playback: No ( This was copied from your logfile)

This again copied from your logfile.

DCS.txt Logfiles.

Log looks good.

Anyway, I added a tweak to the next patch, which should fix this no-sound problem.

Did you see all of the items in the DCS.txt logfile that are being skipped and

the warnings of items not being loaded due to mulitple files attempting to load the same item? Now of course I don't know if this is an issue or it is a part of the patch written to remove file loading issues. Can you or someone

with knowledge of this chime in for us to better understand the logfiles.

Thanks in advance.

If you don't have problems with other applications, dcs.log does not contain sound-related errors, then, possibly, there's a problem of A10 with your specific card.

To check if this is the case, please, test A10 with another soundcard (on-board one?), if possible.

It's much faster than unnecessary reinstalls.

Thank you.

Okay right now I'm just using a USB headset. So tonight I will see if I can get my speakers to work with the game. If that dont work, next step will be using onboard sound

USB headset IS another soundcard. So the issue actually is your X-Fi not working in A10?

Other way around the headset isn't working, just checked the speakers and they are working fine.

This is the Sound support forum.

Let's stay on topic.

Uhhhmmmm... I am talking about the logfiles references to sound, Are they

supposed to reflect those entries. Like the one that says 'Duplicate' in the first line?

If we are talking about dcs.txt attached in this thread, it contains only 2 records from the sound subsystem: device name and channel layout.

I have the same problem, lost all sound in the game last night. I have sound with all my other apps. Really don't no where to begin. Currently I am using a headset and I believe my soundboard is built into the motherboard. Not sure where to begin to try and fix this problem, I could really use some help.
