So guys, I have some good/bad news; I proposed to my long time GF the other day. I'm accustomed to having all the time in the world for flying my sims, and not having to justify my purchases to anyone but myself! I'm glad I bought my TM Warthog :joystick: the other day, because I'm sure there's no way I could sneak that through now. :(

I'm wondering if any of the more experienced married men around these parts have any advice for someone in my position? Any clever tricks for sneaking things past the 'ole dungeon keeper? LOL! :D

Well that's all over now..lol

As far as buying what you want in the future.. not sure how that's going to work.. Once the cuffs are on.. you better be david copperfield.. The way i do it.. is just buy what i want and then take the beating..

The only way i can justify it with myself is.. I make the money and pay the bills and put money in the savings account.. so i reward myself.. and her too. You will always take a beating.. it gets worse as time goes by.. If you need to purchase anything else.. get while you can.

If she made all the money i wouldn't have a leg to stand on..

Heh, don't think of it in terms of having to "sneak things through". If there is a big purchase that you want to make, talk with her about it. Hopefully she'll understand that it's something you really want. And remember this has to work both ways!

Whatever you do, DON'T go sneakily buy it in the hopes she doesn't notice or something. That's kind of an un-trustworthy thing to do. They always say communication is one of the keys to marriage. :D

My wife chuckles at me when I put on my TrackIR hat, but she understands that looking totally goofy is one of her husband's fun hobbies.

Also, congrats on the engagement! Here's to many happy years together (and lots of happy simming). :drink: :joystick:

Yes, well in the case of the OP, being the particular shining example of the advancement of the human genome has descended far below wearing a mere hat.

Order it on your girlfriend's computer & have it shipped to her house. Then take it home & say "Hey, look what I found in the trash at work honey".
