When the KC135 is damaged and an engine catches fire, the fire is not aligned with the actual engine as per this screenshot:

Only a small detail, not saying it is remotely important, but thought I would point it out.

I did it as well.^^

Although it is a pity that the engine doesn't seem to take into account which type of damage it was.

Once I "crashed" (2m/sec or so) nose-first into the "fins" of the boom and suddenly there were bullet holes in the tanker's right wing.

But who cares, you aren't expected to crash into the tanker anyway. :D

What part of the aircraft did you hit? I'm not saying DCS is 100%, but if you hit an engine (RL), you can expect holes like that, high pressure turbine coming apart would look like bullets holes.
