This is what I'm experiencing: http://i.imgur.com/yXl5H.jpg

None of my buttons do what they are supposed to, I really need some help guys. I've tried many of the different .lua files and .xml files for this controller and it seems to just not work.

First of all, they are labeled Joystick1 and BTN_3. This gives no real context as to where the buttons are, and ontop of that it will not let me add the buttons by just clicking them sometimes. For example, the image at the top, you cannot use the Throttle part of the Joystick for any Throttle commands.

If someone could clear this up that would be awesome. I love this joystick, but I frigin hate the setup.

Throttles are set in the Axis Commands. You need to click the drop down to the right of "All" and then select "Axis Commands". You'll see all kinds of other sections as well, the next important one to look for is HOTAS. That has all your stick and throttle button controls listed.

I have a drawing of my HOTAS that shows all the button numbers etc. check your docs file for the install and see if there is one for yours.

Hope that get's you started, don't own a G940 so configuration help will have to come from someone else. Good luck.

You have to assign the axis commands by choosing "axis commands" in the dropdown menu.

Then you should be able to just click the function you want to assign and then just move the axis you want to assign to the function.

assigning the buttons is easy then, just go on the HOTAS-page of teh dropdown menu and double-click on the function you want to assign. Then press the button on your stick. That should work.

I recommend clearing all the functions of all three controllers first, the way they are assigned in the beginning is bullsh**

Feel free to ask further questions, I tried a lot of things with it already and I really get nice results with that stick.

btw: If you do it right you can even use the profiler software for some of the functions if you need more keys, for example.

You can use the mode switch you just have to move around some bugs unfortunately

I just used the mode switch to double-assign one of my coolie hats. You don't really need it but it can be nice to have. I don't use the keyboard at all except for the F-Keys (I have TrackIR though, that makes it easier).

Thanks for your help guys, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work correctly. I'm able to change the throttle buttons, but they do not work as assigned.

This is the profile I am trying to replicate.

Here's what I've been able to figure out:

Throttle 1: Works as the Joystick1's Y Axis.

Throttle 2: Works as the Joystick1's X Axis.

Slew Control: Works as Throttle Y Axis (since it only has Y Axis input).

Buttons P1-8: Do not work as I set them, or as the profile is set.

For example, P1 is set to Flaps Up. Instead it Slew's the camera angle to center (Like Keypad5).

Has anyone experienced this before? I'm sure it's carbon based error..somewhere.

Make sure you clear the categories before assigning the buttons. I think by default the game assigns those buttons when you start. So clear it all out first. My throttle controls are clear where your pic is showing as well. You have to click assign axis to set up throttle.

I found out what the problem was here. I'll explain it if anyone decides to search for the same problem.

The fact that G940 (maybe other joysticks) use the same "JoyY" "JoyX" on the pedals, joystick, and throttle confuses it. Basically what happens is, if you do not assign the JoyY or JoyX of that device, it will replicate the settings of the JoyY or JoyX of the throttle if the JoyY or JoyX is not set up on the Joystick.

Basically, set all duplicate button names on each joystick, or an easier way to say it, use every button.
