Direwolf Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Does DCS A-10C simulate laser overheating? I mean, if the laser device stays turned on for more than a certain time, does it stop emitting? I am asking that, because I am having problems with my laser search spot procedure, and I don't know if it's fault of the system, the laser device itself or the pilot! Do I have a specified range to have my LSS working? Like I am 25mi away off target area, TGP slaved to it, and press TMS right long and the LSS doesn't start searching! But when I come closer, sometimes it works (sometimes not)! Could someone explain me procedures for LSS, limitations, and if this behavior is normal?
159th_Viper Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 ........press TMS right long and the LSS doesn't start searching! Rightly so. With the TGP as SOI, utilise your Data Management Switch (DMS) to toggle LSS as opposed to your Target Management Switch (TMS). Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? Mud Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Assuming TMS vs DMS was a typo here, I can also add that I've encountered that "problem". However, I've found that giving the TGP a small slew upward from my slaved SPI position and then letting it LSS works fine. Direwolf Posted September 5, 2011 Author Posted September 5, 2011 Mistype It was really a mistype. I meant DMS (these acronyms are really tricky!). Anyway I´ll try Bonso´s solution. Thx for now, and if it works I´ll reply!
