Female JTAC voice

I thought female voices were generally advantageous only really because they're rarer and stand out more, as well as - as at least mentioned in the Wiki article - the pitch and tonal range standing out through radio comms.

 

Regarding the Betty voice, I imagine it would work better than a male voice if only because 95% of the voices you hear in a cockpit are going to be male, having a female voice yelling 'Altitude! Altitude!' would get your attention.

Once I get Mission Planning down, I'll be using the wife's voice for a few roles. She has a really nice, slight southern accent.

 

At the same time, this is modern day, so I'll probably add Bruce at some point too.

 

Hahaha, now I can't stop imagining all sorts of weird JTAC mods like "Gilbert Gottfried" or "really stoned guy."

 

Actually, in all seriousness it would be neat if the voices were kind of like skins, and chosen randomly for each unit of that type, so for example your wingman would have any of a number of voices you had downloaded and placed in the appropriate directory. Recording all the little lines might be a pain but it'd be a simple way to add more variety. I'd be weird to listen to yourself, but you could have a friend with a cool voice over for an afternoon in exchange for a case of beer or something, then edit the timings so it flows and upload it for everyone to use. (Maybe this is already possible and I'm just ig'nant.)

I'm totally into the female JTAC! I already imagine trying to dial in her phone number as an UTM grid code :D

 

We would need other JTAC names too, then, such as "Lady Gaga", "Catwoman", "Bamby", "Ice Queen", "Cinderella" or so ...
