104th_Cobra Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Besides buddy lasing with different laser codes, is there any way to drop two GBU on different targets? I'm experimenting drop the first with CCRP then changing the second drop to CCIP, drop two ripple single with CCRP, but no joy. Only one guide or the two miss. 104th Cobra [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
MTFDarkEagle Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 If you want to drop 2 GBU-12's: not possible. The GBU-12 has to track a laser beam, which the TGP can only fire one. If GBU-38: Yes! Make mark points with your TGP of your targets, and create a new flightplan with those mark points. Then, when you activated that flightplan, use the DMS up with HUD as SOI to cycle between waypoints. I hope this helps :) Lukas - "TIN TIN" - 9th Shrek Air Strike Squadron TIN TIN's Cockpit thread
EtherealN Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 With JDAM it's fairly simple, if your targets are stationary: Find your targets in TGP and create a markpoint on each target. Then set up your standard JDAM delivery pass, release weapon with Mark Point A selected, flip to Mark Point B, release again. With laser guided weapons, you can theoretically just release the weapons with a couple seconds delay and move the laser pointer after each strike, but since all weapons will start tracking the moment they see their laser spot this might be difficult if you need to do it on more than two targets (I've done two weapons on convoys for lols some times, but it's not really effective - there's better tools for the job in those cases), or against dispersed targets. With JDAMs you can just mark as many markpoints as you have weapons and just go through them on your attack pass. Theoretically yes, but in practice the limiting factor is the release window. JDAMS take a long time to pickle and if you aren't flying at angels 30, chances are your release window might be too short to get everything off in one pass. Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two. Come let's eat grandpa! Use punctuation, save lives!

Yeah, depends on the targets though - if they are slightly spread out you might be able to plan your markpoints to get the release windows to "line up". That does depend a lot on the situation though. 104th_Cobra Posted September 10, 2011 Author Posted September 10, 2011 My idea is to have them drop on the same laser code with separate time, from 21k, to have time to slide the laser beam to the second target and direct the 2nd GBU. 104th Cobra [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
MTFDarkEagle Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 Like I said, you cannot automatically drop 2 LGB's on 2 different targets, for x reasons: Your second target will already be way behind you, except when there is a huuuge distance between the two targets. So, unless there is quite some distance between the two targets, it's not possible with LGB's. If there is: use the same way as with JDAM's, create markpoints, and cycle through them. 711Hancer Posted September 10, 2011 Posted September 10, 2011 I think you also also drop two with buddy lasing. One lase from you other from your wingman.
