Lange_666 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Hmm, yes but even if Windows Aero theme is shut down (through GameBooster or so...), VSync still stays on. Yskonyn Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 (edited) GameBooster? Do people still use these applications? I thought we were all quite adapt by now setting up the services in Windows? *ducks* ;) Edited September 22, 2011 by Yskonyn [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Asus Z390-E, 32GB Crucial Ballistix 2400Mhz, Intel i7 9700K 5.0Ghz, Asus GTX1080 8GB, SoundBlaster AE-5, G15, Streamdeck, DSD Flight, TM Warthog, VirPil BRD, MFG Crosswind CAM5, TrackIR 5, KW-908 Jetseat, Win 10 64-bit ”Pilots do not get paid for what they do daily, but they get paid for what they are capable of doing. Lange_666 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 You don't have to duck. But yeah why not. I don't use it to shut down all those unneeded services because i disable them after i install Windows (and this does not happen a lot these days) but to kill some stuff that i don't need to have running in the background but that i do like running when i'm not gaming. Saves me the time to shut them down one by one manualy. And re-enable them afterwarts. So for that, i find it a handy tool. What everybody else thinks of it, i don't mind...;) Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. 104th_Crunch Posted September 22, 2011 Author Posted September 22, 2011 Windows 7 Aero theme has v-sync on in windowed mode so you see no tearing So in WinXP you would have tearing and no Vsync in Windowed mode right? That is why I never used windows mode before.
KaspeR32 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Just curious, what are you all referring to when you mention "tearing." There is an odd effect when I play FC2 & DCS:BS that looks like a vertical ring around my aircraft in the distance. Vertical lines almost. Would that be what you are experiencing? Thanks Intel i5-2500k @ 4.4GHz w/ H70 liquid cooler, ASRock PRO3-M Z68 Mobo, 32G 1600Mhz Mushkin RAM, EVGA GTX970 4GB , OCZ Agility 3 128g SSD, SanDisk 240g SSD, Win7 64-bit --Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/livingfood --

Thanks No, that is different. Tearing is when the frames overlap each other like below vsync_example by Crunch_1, on Flickr My issue is resolved, feel free to post a screen shot of yours here for some help Edited September 23, 2011 by Crunch
KaspeR32 Posted September 22, 2011 Posted September 22, 2011 Ah ok, that is different that what I've seen. Luckily I haven't dealt with that problem. But yeah I will try and post a pic and see what you guys think about the artifacts I'm seeing. Glad you were able to resolve your issue though ;) Intel i5-2500k @ 4.4GHz w/ H70 liquid cooler, ASRock PRO3-M Z68 Mobo, 32G 1600Mhz Mushkin RAM, EVGA GTX970 4GB , OCZ Agility 3 128g SSD, SanDisk 240g SSD, Win7 64-bit --Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/livingfood --
