Hmm, yes but even if Windows Aero theme is shut down (through GameBooster or so...), VSync still stays on.

GameBooster? Do people still use these applications?

I thought we were all quite adapt by now setting up the services in Windows?

You don't have to duck.

But yeah why not. I don't use it to shut down all those unneeded services because i disable them after i install Windows (and this does not happen a lot these days) but to kill some stuff that i don't need to have running in the background but that i do like running when i'm not gaming. Saves me the time to shut them down one by one manualy. And re-enable them afterwarts. So for that, i find it a handy tool. What everybody else thinks of it, i don't mind...;)

Windows 7 Aero theme has v-sync on in windowed mode so you see no tearing

So in WinXP you would have tearing and no Vsync in Windowed mode right? That is why I never used windows mode before.

Just curious, what are you all referring to when you mention "tearing." There is an odd effect when I play FC2 & DCS:BS that looks like a vertical ring around my aircraft in the distance. Vertical lines almost. Would that be what you are experiencing?

Thanks

No, that is different. Tearing is when the frames overlap each other like below

Luckily I haven't dealt with that problem. But yeah I will try and post a pic and see what you guys think about the artifacts I'm seeing. Glad you were able to resolve your issue though ;)
