Hi. All Virtual Pilot's.

I buy a game PC only for "Flaming Cliffs 2"

I5 2500 (3.3 Ghz.)

4GB 1333 Kingston Ram

Gigabyte or MSI with (SLI or Crossfire supp.)

The Question is; where is the best?

Nvidia or ATI?

When I buy ATI, can I play with 0 problem in "Flaming Cliffs 2" ?

Or I buy EVGA GTX480.

Thanks.

These days 4GB is minimum. 8 is recommended. I advise 8 GB of 1600Mhz DD3 Dual channel RAM instead of 1333Mhz. The difference in price should be minimal.

Also GTX480 is no longer sold, you might want to get a GTX570 instead. Delivers similar performance but consumes less, and heats up less also. LFC2 engine favors NVIDIA cards, and this one is more than enough, you could get away with a GTX560. SLI wont give you extra performance unless you have a 30" monitor or greater. Otherwise save the money.

If you still have some cash left get an SSD. I recommend Crucial M4 or Intel 510 series. Samsung has recently released series 830 which is even better if you can find one. For now avoid sandforce 2281 controlers such as vertex 3, solid 3, agility 3, patriot wildfire, Corsair force GT series etc. They are having reliability issues.

Good build!

It'll also block from using the full 4GB RAM on that proposed machine. Remember: the 4GB adressable limit includes both RAM and vRAM! There are several additional issues, as well, that affect 32-bit systems.

IMO, netbooks are the only type of machine one should consider giving a 32-bit OS nowadays. There is no reason not to go 64-bit on anything other than netbooks and tablets.

Make sure you get the i5 2500k not the non k variant. That baby OC's to 3.8ghz on the standard heat sink get a high end heat sink and you can clock it to well over 4ghz easily and stable (a stable 4.6ghz at below 90c has been acheived on the Noctua). DO NOT buy the non k variant, it's locked.

The 2500k can only be oc'd on 6 series chipsets so make sure your mainboard is 6 series, the best bang for buck is the Asus P8P67 PRO. Make sure you get either revision 3.0 or 3.1. If you dont get a 6 series chipset you WONT be able to overclock it.
