L4key Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Bit random but anyone got any book recommendations on Space travel? Just watched Apollo 13 (again) and dawned on me that I know little about space flight. Not into anything too technical but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
PatriotCFS Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 No books here, but I believe NASA has a sim-(ish) on space filght... Another fun sim-(ish) is Starshatter TGS, its a space fight game that kills many hours of boredom. :)
Avilator Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 The Right Stuff book/movie I've only seen the movie, but it was very good. I only respond to that little mechanical voice that says "Terrain! Terrain! Pull Up! Pull Up!" Who can say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow. -Robert Goddard "A hybrid. A car for enthusiasts of armpit hair and brown rice." -Jeremy Clarkson "I swear by my pretty floral bonet, I will end you." -Mal from Firefly
Runibl Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 Loved "Packing for Mars" http://www.amazon.co.uk/Packing-Mars-Curious-Science-Space/dp/1851687807/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1317230802&sr=8-1 Not actual space travel, but a funny telling about how stuff works in space. A lot that we usually do not hear about. Runi.
