Bushmanni Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I'd like to have "Do not engage unit" and "Do not engage group" tasks added to mission editor. Other thing would be to have optional upper and lower altitude bounds to the trigger zones and the lower bound should have the possibility to choose between altitude above sea level or ground. Also LOS check trigger rules between units, groups or coalitions would be nice. Sticky mission editor feature wishlist thread would be nice also. Currently I could find one only in the Blackshark section. Maybe that could be moved to some more relevant section like here? jvanes Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 I would like te see an external mission planner so i can plan a mission on my second pc instead of sitting in my cockpit setup wich is nog ideal for planning missions. Just my 2 cents ;) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
dooom Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 A plea for ME Map improvement. While I recognize ED is extremely busy preparing the BS compatability and next title in the series, I would like to submit a plea for future patch attention on behalf of my Mission building brethren. Please consider the inclusion of the in-game F10 version of the map as a replacement to the current ME surface we must suffer in our endeavors to continue offering missions to the community. As a layperson with a completely unsubstantiated opinion as to what would be involved with such a patch inclusion, I can only plea that it be looked into in due course. A picture says a thousand words in this case. Please refer below and let me know if there is a trick I am missing with mission building.... Thanks! 159th_Falcon Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Buildings are there, from the top menu look for customize, then select map options. From the list that appears make sure the checkbox for buildings is checked. Also note that buildings only show at certain zoom levels. (checked whit FC2, DCS naming may be different) ~S~ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] The keeper of all mathematical knowledge and the oracle of flight modeling.:)

I have to disagree... the picture above has all the options checked in map customize and the black blocks which represent buildings on the left are still not there (as seen in the image on the right) makes it tough to plan AI maneuvers. 159th_Falcon Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 (edited) Interesting, just checked whit A10C, KA50 and FC2 and i see the buildings. Also tested without the mission editor mod from blindspot and same result. So i'd like to know what game your using (believe BS?) and if you have any mods installed. Particularly once that deal whit the user interface and/or the mission editor. I did notice that it can take a couple seconds for the buildings to appear when you zoom in, maybe you need to wait a bit longer for your PC to draw them? Anyway, i don't think its a shortcoming of the game but something to do whit your particular setup. Could you confirm you have the checkbox option for buildings in the Mission Editor list? Lets see if we can solve this issue. ~S~ ***EDIT*** Ok, just realized something, your using A10C. And the buildings are showing just fine in both screen shots, its just that in the mission editor buildings are not shown black but brown, slightly different shade then the color of cities. I'd say, zoom in on a city, go to customize, map options, look for buildings and turn it off. You will see the difference. Still possible that the shown buildings location in the ME does not precisely match the building location in game. That's something you will have to try out. Hope all is clear, cause for some reason i cant capture a screenshot of what i see in the mission editor. Good luck whit your missions Dooom. Bushmanni Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 In A-10C both trees and buildings are brown boxes, there isn't any way to distinguish them in ME. If you zoom away just enough the trees disappear but if there's any clutter like waypoints or units nearby they will occlude the buildings. dooom Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 All buildings available in ME please I would like to request that all DCS building models from F:\Program files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS A-10C\Bazar\Terrain\Structures\ be made available in the ME for placement as static structures. This would allow Mission builders to expand cities, make more targets and even recreate missing cities in some cases. i created a thread asking for a mod in this regard but it really is something that should be included in a patch. 1 ASUS Tuf Gaming Pro x570 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X @ 3.8 / XFX Radeon 6900 XT / 64 GB DDR4 3200 "This was not in the Manual I did not read", cried the Noob" - BMBM, WWIIOL

If you look closely at the picture i posted you can see why it is so difficult to have vehicles drive in between buildings or station zu23 appropriately... the "blocks" simply do not match up or share the same detail... only the map in the f10 has the detail we need. DUSTY Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 I Concur with you dooom. I would really love this as well. If i remember correctly back in LOMAC you could actually turn on a 'satellite' view in the ME which made things even easier! That would be an awesome addition to the DCSW mission editor... Krebs20 Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 I like the idea. More ME options the better. BTW Nice flying with you last night. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

chromium Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 (edited) Some small useful ME features Hi, I have some suggestions for the ME: 1-Ability to save templates of static groups; 2-Ability to select multiple object by area (square with mouse hold?) and/or by the unit list; 3-FARP.. this could be more harder... rebuild FARP object: only 1 pad, that will "work" with ground units if it's near at least 150 mt to all the necessary ground vehicles. This will greatly help to recreate farps near trees or in a less visible situations (like HA areas: covered and concealed positions near the front). 4-"IF DETECTED" o "IF IN SENSORS RANGE" trigger, to recreate more realistic IADS and enemy reaction behaviour... in terrain masking situation first of all. Now we are "stuck" to " .... INSIDE ZONE" condition... that works good but could be better ;) 5-Since it's not possible to use the "F10" radio options in multiplayer, could be really useful to have a simple "KEYPRESS" condition, witch enable the action when pressing a particoular Keystroke. thanks anyway ;) Edited November 22, 2011 by chromium Author of DSMC, mod to enable scenario persistency and save updated miz file Stable version & site: https://dsmcfordcs.wordpress.com/ Openbeta: https://github.com/Chromium18/DSMC The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.
