cichlidfan Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 I have the Pro Combat Rudder Pedals as well, but I can't find the right axis that A-10C sees as the the toe Brakes. What axis is everyone mapping the toe brakes to for them to work properly? I am really not sure why it would be a problem. If they are assigned like the first pic and set inverted like the second then it should work. Blarney, if you don't see the axis in the boxes highlighted in red in chchlidfan's image, then click on the blank box there, choose 'assign' and when the window opens, move the axis, and it should assign it automatically. don't forget to remove any other device assignments which may be there for the toe brakes. Blarney Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Ok. I think I understand. I've been searching through all the axis listed in the A-10C controls and trying to move the toe brake for each one, trying to find what axis moves when I press the toe brakes. To no avail. Needless to say, I have a bunch to learn all around. Certainly appreciate the help. 486DX w/turbo button
Blarney Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Chchildfan, how are you able to map two functions to the same axis? It looks like you have toe brakes and HOTAS slew mapped to the same axis. Don't you get a conflict? 486DX w/turbo button
44th_Rooster Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Duct Tape the saitek assembly to the carpet is what I did.... It may not look fabulous,... but looking good won't make me a better pilot either so I take the duct tape any day. Don't you get a conflict? JOY_X of one USB input device has nothing to do with JOY_X from another. One Controls view column = One USB device. They send their data through two different input channels that have their own X value bound to two different program input handlers.
cichlidfan Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 That is two separate controllers. Each controller is uniquely identified (look at the column heading, it is cut off but you can still read each name sort of). The slew is the X and Y on my throttle (which on that device is a little mouse stick). Also, after you get all of your stuff assigned, to save the profiles you need to save one for each controller. So you will do a save for your pedals but that will not save anything else (i.e. Joystick). The way to do that is to click on any item in the column for the controller you want to save. Then click Save Profile, give a unique name and save. The saves are so you can easily backup your configuration files or change configurations. The GUI manual in the Doc folder explains this more or less. If you have more questions, please ask. This area can be confusing the first time you deal with it....and we have all been there! Fish Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Chchildfan, how are you able to map two functions to the same axis.......... Don't you get a conflict? No, just means you have two controller inputs doing the same job. Multiple redundancy!!! marcus2us Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I use a bag of sand I had left over from a yard project this summer. I place the bag of sand behind the rudder and it keeps it from slipping back and from side to side.
