I'm new in this game and i have a problem:something's wrong with Skval system, I can't start it up.When I press the start button on the left weapons pannel nothing happen,the screen remains black.Maybe it's something wrong in my procedure.I even think maybe i messed up with some buttons I don't know. can someone tell me the procedure step by step for start up the Skval system and ,for example, to use a Vikhr missile? thanks a lot

I started up weapons switch on the right console,then the weapons pannel,the master arm switch , selected missile with{Y}, pushed the ground moving object button, started HUD, pressed {O},pushed auto tracking button, started laser button, locked the target with "enter" and...nothing. Thanks again Do you have Launch Authorization? Have you depressed the Weapons release button and held it down? Very difficult to speculate - could be a multitude of things. Have a look at the manual pgs 7-16 to 7-23 which explains all in great detail, alternatively post a track and we'll be able to tell you exactly where you're erring. What I do is as folllows: Once set up from engagement position, 1 - Laser On, Moving target On, Auto-turn on. 2 - Mode switch to Long, Master Arm On, select Vikhrs. 3 - Uncage Shkval and find target. Set tracking gate and Lock target. 4 - Ensure Launch parameters are met (target line-of-sight symbol will be within the missile launch zone reticle) as indicated by the 'C' in the left of the HUD. 5 - Launch As you can see from the track, launch parameters are very narrow (see the disappearing 'C' as I apply left and right rudder over the target LOS) so attitude at launch is important. Thanks again Maenuver the Vikhr circle (large one) to go inside the Shkval circle (smaller one) on the HUD. When C appears, press and hold the launch button. Depending on vehicle type, you might want to set salvo mode to short to fire a single Vikhr as opposed to two. Also, dependant on slant angle/range etc etc you could find that your Vikhr sometimes impacts short of the target. In this case, utilize the auto-track function of the Shkval and adjust the tracking gate to track just above the vehicle (or in front in case of speedier venicles/slower missiles such as the Kh-25ML). You will notice that the tracking gate will not be locked as indicated by the 'TA' in the Shkval - that is however non-consequential: You'll still get the kill courtesy of Auto-tracking. There is the Ejection system BIT panel on the right Rear Aux panel that you can tinker with and turn dials for immersion - does not however influence the ejection sequence at this stage. You need to be looking to the left console, engage Auto turn to target and ground moving target switches. Next, turn on the laser rangefinder to the right of the reset target computer. (still looking to the left console). The aircraft will turn its nose towards the target. You have to be over 5 klicks for sustained visual and to have the autopilot pitch/bank/heading hold on the right console to on... Better be still as well (hover)... lock with TA on shkval, and fire by holding the weapon release 1.5 second. Visualise missile ejection from rack and on shkval with subsequent whirlwinding (by the way thats the NATO designation to the Vikhr = Vikhr = WhirlWind) To eject: ensure the 3 switches to the right under the robot hood (red and black stripes) are not visible (flicked up) and hood closed. then to eject, be above 1000 ASL and press Lctrl + e three times quickly.. Auto turn to target is not necessary, but it can be handy. If you have the YAW AP channel on, it can help in managing the systems and weapons better, but it's not required. to eject, be above 1000 ASL and ... You activate pitch and bank hold only, and be under 32 KIAs (left number on the HUD top) Shkval should also show +000 on its left side but for absolute figure, to be perferctly still mid-air, you need to engage hover mode under 30 KIAs for the remaining 2 keys (alt hold) to go on and the aircraft to pull its nose back and get a neutral position on the HSI. Also, when you takeoff, set the pitch trim to forward a little (you know..), and make sure the auto turn is disabled (it sometimes conflicts with heading hold and the correct procedure is to hover THEN engage autoturn, not the opposite) for fine tuning.. If you want the Vikhrs circle to remain on target, assign a HOTAS command to autopilot heading hold, disengage it, move the rudder to place the vikhrs circle on the shkval circle centered, then keep the rudder strung and engage the autopilot heading hold. this way you need not autoturn to target. NOE is not my preferred flight plan, but if you're moving at 200 and 250, and a missile pops out of nowhere, and hits you in the blades, you are literally doing an impression with your teeth on the ground...
