Hello,

Is there a community fix for the veering we get in the seeker head of the maverick after it's been ground-stabilized and we try slewing it?

How do you guys go about employing it?

I have some friends that do not have machines powerful enough to run BS or A-10C and so we fly FC2, but the lack of continuous support to an upgrade that was paid for is almost insulting.

Anyway, ranting aside, do you guys fly the A-10A multiplayer? How do you guys employ the maverick? I've been trying to do so, but I've been getting beaten to kingdom come when I try to lock anything up. I lock the pipper close to the target to ground-stabilize it, however, when I slew the seeker-head, for example, to the left it "kind of" veers to the right and locking the pesky thing up becomes a herculeanly difficult task.

I have not seen too many posts on this topic, so has anyone found a fix for this problem? :smartass: :pilotfly:

Thanks Viper... I had read that thread, but they stated that we should map the mouse axis as the Maverick slew control, correct?

After doing that I guess I'd lose the mouse axis to control the external views, I presume?

Someone there also recommends using the ministick set in bands. I also do that, and I have set the 4 keyboard keys that control UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT to their respective slew controls, but that causes the strange maverick slewing bug.

So, is there something I am missing? Is it still possible to use the ministick set as "bands" and use keyboard commands to control the Slew in the Maverick and not have the slew bug?

Thank you so much for your attention and patience.

I always use the TGP, if not available, I try to keep the A-10 as stable as possible and slew the seeker but it always takes me several passes without TGP

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Hello mvsgas,

This problem pertains to the A-10A in Flaming Cliffs 2.0, which, much to our demise, has been left aside after the compatibity patch with Black Shark was released.

@Viper

The workaround with the mouse axis works perfectly. All I had to do was create another Saitek profile to use it with the A-10, so I wouldn't lose the mouse camera control with the external views on the remaining planes.

Thanks a lot for the help.

There is no "bug" with the maverick's slewing AT ALL!

The problem is caused because the slewing uses acceleration so when you first start to slew the cursor is moving at zero speed.

If you are slowly yawing or pitching the cursor cannot keep up with the change in angle until it speeds up enough to overcome the pitch\yaw angle change.

So what is happening is you are slowly pitching down and you want to move the cursor up. You hit the hatswitch up "unlocking" the cursor. The cursor up speed is initially not fast enough to overcome your pitching down so it takes off in the wrong direction i.e. down. When it accelerates to a high enough speed to overcome the pitch down motion it then starts moving in the correct direction i.e. up.

Solution - hit "attitude hold" when you are slewing the cursor. It will lock on faster so you don't need to hold it for long.

Thanks guys. I got it working nicely with the mouse axes and by using the ministick on the X52PRO set to mouse and divided in bands.
