Supersheep Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Hi! I use to hear call-outs like "Tally armor at [...]" and the like from my wingmen and other flights. What, exactly, does "tally" mean? Referring to bullseye? Target with the highest priority? Colour of that thing? Oversize?:smartass: Gettin' stupid, so please help me. Thanks! Supersheep The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
GGTharos Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Tally means 'I see an enemy' Visual means 'I see a friendly' (Thus you should not say something confusings like 'visual on the bandit'. It's always 'tally bandit') [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

FreeFall Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 (edited) And the opposite of tally is "No joy" (= Aircrew does not have visual contact with the target/bandit/landmark; opposite of tally.) Edited November 1, 2011 by FreeFall
AlphaOneSix Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Tally means 'I see an enemy' Visual means 'I see a friendly' And to complete the trifecta... Contact means 'I see the landmark'
104th_Crunch Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Tally means 'I see an enemy' Visual means 'I see a friendly' (Thus you should not say something confusings like 'visual on the bandit'. It's always 'tally bandit') Or if I.D not known, 'Tally Bogey'
ralfidude Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 search on youtube, and you wil find a tutorial on bullseye. You can input the bullseye coordinates to show a waypoint on those contacts that are being called out. Very useful.
