enigma6584 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I believe I may have found a small bug. Been admiring the in cockpit shadows, flying around in a mission. Was looking over at the nose and out on each wing...noticed that I don't see any rotar blade shadows anymore. Can anyone confirm this?
enigma6584 Posted November 9, 2011 Author Posted November 9, 2011 May I ask what your shadow settings in the game are? I just want to check that I have the correct settings.
Spetz Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 IIRC (I'm at work), shadows are set to low. The only two I have set to high are the top two. I'll verify tonight and post a screenie of my settings and an in-cockpit of the shadows if you like.
enigma6584 Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 Just so we are not misunderstanding each other...I'm talking about when you are sitting in the cockpit now...not on an outside view looking at the heli. You are sitting in the cockpit, move your head up in order to look at the nose...or look left or right at the wing pods...I don't see any rotor blade shadows anymore on those areas.
enigma6584 Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 Is there anyone else who could just remember to check the next time they are in game and post results here it would be most appreciated.
Nate--IRL-- Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 (edited) If cockpit shadows are on, it uses a shadow map. DCS can currently on render 1 shadow map at a time. EDIT:- It is the same for the A-10. Nate Edited November 10, 2011 by Nate--IRL-- Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
enigma6584 Posted November 10, 2011 Author Posted November 10, 2011 Ah...thank you. I can live without the shadows on the fuselage...I love the new in cockpit shadows. I just wanted to make sure because I do remember them from BS1. Thanks again.
