cltmmm Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 So... Since it seems BS2 is running on some version of A-10C code, does anyone out there think it is possible to hack thermal into the Shkval making it think it is a targeting pod on the A-10? It would show off what the industry is trying to do to update the old bird! Just a thought...

It would show off what the industry is trying to do to update the old bird! Just a thought... It would defy the purpose of the authenticity... ED produced blackshark for 95% (IIRC) authenticity. The remaining 5% may be 1% - Russian Nuclear Launch Codes from Abris 1% - R-73 or an Aphid (same?) capability nerfed under orders by Kamova OKB (Now Arsenyev blah blah blah...) 1% - ASW hoist sonar ping beacon for anti-sub warfare (pretty much like M.A.D. on the RAF Merlin class helicopters) 1% - Non-functioning keys of the cockpit 1% - Extra aerobatic/defensive maneuvers currently in use by Russian Airforce. Or it could be 5% in one peculiar, mysterious thing. AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.
Dejjvid Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 And i don't think you are allowed to do that anyways. Load up with illumination rockets. After a bit of practice you will be able to support yourself. i7 8700K | GTX 1080 Ti | 32GB RAM | 500GB M.2 SSD | TIR5 w/ Trackclip Pro | TM Hotas Warthog | Saitek Pro Flight Rudder [sigpic]http://www.132virtualwing.org[/sigpic]

However, it is not necessary to do something like that because you can achieved similar effect with little contrast and brightness tuning from the cockpit. It is one of the oldest "exploits" in Black shark wich aloves player to use guided missiles even during night. Personally , i don't use this possibility because i think it's very unrealistic . Optics installed on Shark is completely useless during dark night probably. However, this is not true in DCS:BS... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Virtual Aerial Operations
Bushmanni Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 In BS2 Shkval is pretty useless in dark night thanks to realistic contrast and brightness adjustment behavior. Shkval sees pretty much as well as naked eye now. DCS Finland: Suomalainen DCS yhteisö -- Finnish DCS community -------------------------------------------------- SF Squadron
