rico Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Is it the way it is or am i making something wrong? When i let a KC-135 set their TACAN freq (exp 1Y) and turn TACAN to "T/R" or "T/R AA", i only receive Bearing info. Is this RL?... Regards
Inseckt Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 I think so. I has been stated in a recent thread that you only get bearing OR range... Help Beczl with his DCS MiG-21Bis project by Pre-Ordering DCS MiG-21Bis module NOW! CLICK HERE TO GO TO PRE-ORDER PAGE AT INDIEGOGO
rico Posted December 10, 2011 Author Posted December 10, 2011 Ah, i see. Would be useful to have both, anyway. Thanks
WildFire Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Kidding me right? I just played a mission a couple minutes ago and tanked. Use the tacan radio and set it to AA T/R (air-2-air transmit/receive) then hit the tacan button on the Navigation panel behind the stick. You'll get both a heading indicator flag on the HSI and the top left will give you distance.
Torment Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Isn't the "Y" band an issue currently? Try setting the TACAN of your tanker on "X" instead. Eddie Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Y band isn't currently implemented, use X band instead for the time being.

rico Posted December 11, 2011 Author Posted December 11, 2011 Yes...X-Band (TACAN) works and gives bearing and distance. Will the Y-Band be implemented someday?
Eddie Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Yes...X-Band (TACAN) works and gives bearing and distance. Will the Y-Band be implemented someday? Yes, already done. But it won't be in the next patch (1.1.1.1 hotfix), it'll be in a later (full) patch, whenever that may be.
