SuperKungFu Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 I really need to know if the new patch 1.11 would fix the zoom problem (especially in the MiG-29). I know there is another thread that offers a Saitek fix but this is not a hardware problem, it’s just a FC bug. I know this because I had the same problem with or without a joystick and on a different computer. (Besides that fix doesn’t apply for the X-52) Here is a picture of what I see on any computer I load up. This makes the MiG-29 unplayable, which sucks because it’s the 2nd best flyable model. Even without the joystick and I press * to zoom in, I still get this close up view that I can’t get out of, which makes dog fighting virtually impossible. Another zoom-related problem is the jiggle effect when the plane is on the ground. There seems to be some sort of vortex on the 4 diagonal angles of any plane. For example, if I turn on the jiggle effect and move to one of the diagonal angles, the camera will first zoom out then gets sucked in to this close up view without me pressing anything. Unlike the zoom problem in the cockpit for the MiG, this one I can actually get out of if I zoom out. But it gets really annoying to see the view zoom in and out like that. Note: This "vortex" problem applies to all planes and not just the MiG. (Picture Below) So please ED could you incorporate a fix for these problems in the next patch. I know it’s kind of late but please add it because I can no longer fly the MiG-29. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
504MrWolf Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 cant say ive had this problem. Can you explain exactly how it happens ? I have X45 also and used the rotary's to zoom untill i got a TrackIR. www.VVS504.co.uk www.lockonskins.co.uk
SuperKungFu Posted September 10, 2005 Author Posted September 10, 2005 It's not the joystick problem, I tried it with the X-52 and the X-36F, both showed the same thing. So i unplugged it and used my mouse to zoom and it also gave me the same thing. Even pressing * on the keyboard will show the same result. I repeated these steps over and over again on 5 different computers. So I concluded its not a hardware problem but an FC bug. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
KILSEK Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Hi all. Did you take any of the slashes // out of the "view cfg"? -KILSEK
SuperKungFu Posted September 10, 2005 Author Posted September 10, 2005 Did you take any of the slashes // out of the "view cfg"? -KILSEK Nope didn't even touch it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ED Team Wags Posted September 10, 2005 ED Team Posted September 10, 2005 Looks like you mucked up the values for "-- Camera view angle limits {view angle min, view angle max}" in the view/lua file. What are your values for : CameraViewAngleLimits[PlaneIndex.iMiG_29] = {xx.x, xxx.x} in the view.lua file? My guess is that your second value is far too low (probably 10.0 by the looks of it). Try {20.0, 120.0} instead. Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/wagmatt Twitch: wagmatt System: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=3729544#post3729544
SuperKungFu Posted September 10, 2005 Author Posted September 10, 2005 Try {20.0, 120.0} instead. VERY NICE! My old one use to be {20.0, 12.0}. And i copied this same file to all the other computers i used lol. That's why i got the same problem over and over again. But thank you again, finally i can fly my MiG! Well since this is fixed, i just hope the patch will do something about that jiggle effect on the ground. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
diveplane Posted September 11, 2005 Posted September 11, 2005 nit pickin jiggle effect on the ground is head movment , nothing wrong with that realistic if you ask me..... https://www.youtube.com/user/diveplane11 DCS Audio Modding.
SuperKungFu Posted September 11, 2005 Author Posted September 11, 2005 realistic? But this is external view. The view should not zoom out first then gets sucked back in. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
