hassata Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Why you say Saudi pilots are not competent? Just in general, you need a long standing infrastructure in place to turn out pilots in the required numbers to fly those planes to maximum performance. It would be a tall order for most Air Forces. hog_driver111th Posted January 1, 2012 Author Posted January 1, 2012 Yes please. I started this thread to spread the news of US aircraft being sold to other countries... not to start a political "who's better than the other" kind of thread. That being said, the sale was voted on and Saudi Arabia bought the F-15. Weta43 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Coming from a man who won a nobel peace prize, what a joke... Very OT, but The Guardian had a nice editorial about that today headlined "Vote Obama – if you want a centrist Republican for US president" http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2011/dec/27/vote-obama-centrist-republican/print Cheers.
hassata Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Not to get political, but the one big surprise for me was that none of the regulators, secretaries, and chairmen at the helm during the housing bubble collapse were prosecuted. In fact, almost to a man they were re-appointed and/or promoted. What the hell? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Weta43 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 [OT_RANT] You're confused - if you remember that they're not working for the voters, but for the banks and industries that provide the campaign funds to get them re-elected, then they were just applying the rules they were paid to make (ie minimising Govt oversight), in the manner they were paid to appy them (ie light-handedly). They were encouraged to put their faith in the financial Markets in the same way we're all encouraged to 'have faith in the magical hand of the unregulated market'. Which is why we have housing bubbles and global warming :-) Sorry couldn't help myself... [/OT_RANT] Cheers.
