Deathfromabove Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Hi there, I'm a new to black shark, but I'm a long fan of simulation, especially DOS ones :pilotfly: So, to the point: after a ramp start of the helo (or an assisted one) I add some collective but the aircraft pitch up wildly to the point that if I'm not quick on the stick, it will capsize. Even if I takeoff the helo remains quite unstable and do crazy things. I've engaged all three autopilots and trimming but... this is a normal or there is something strange with my controls? I've checked with CTRL-ENTER and the controls seems centered. Another strange thing I've notice is that as soon I start a mission, the view will zoom-out to maximum. I use the saitek X52 and blackshark 2. Thanks!
Griffin Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Trim just a wee forward before lifting off. Just one or two diamonds forward of center. With helicopters in general you need to be ready to respond to anything quickly with all your limbs. They require constant control to do what you want. It will come with experience. For me it also zooms out on start. I've no idea why but I already learned to stop it immediately with a quick tap. Welcome to ED forums and world of DCS!
JG14_Smil Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 (edited) The zoom out started with BS2 and I hate it. Is your controller calibrated in Windows Game Controllers? If stick is working correctly, uncheck Central Position Trimmer, start BS with a cold start and put the RCTRL ENTER indicator on. Push trim button, move stick forward, let go of trim button and re-center stick. See how the indicator has changed it's position? The farther the indicator pipper goes forward, the faster your helo will fly. You will learn to place the pipper in certain spots for different speeds and taxi/hover, ect. Let the trimmer and pipper do the work. It is the secret to flying the BS. Edited December 30, 2011 by JG14_Smil
Suchacz Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Akula has a heavy tail, so if you are taking off you must push the cyclic little bit forward. jimcarrel Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 My method for balanced take off is - after all systems ready, while still on ground, hit trim. No extra steps of opening the calibration window. Win 10 64 bit Intel I-7 7700K 32GB Ram Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6gig
