agrasyuk Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 was thinking for some time how to make those MFDs usefull outside the sim. after learning more about Helios bindings an idea popped! attached is a result of wasted evening. I'm not very artistic person nor good with computer graphics, so i could not imagine anything other then green on black (well, kinda goes with the style :) ). for now couple shortcuts to folders and websites of interest + a convinient way to initiate and terminate autohotkey script that translates rotary encoder input. i can see how this can be made fancier with labels changing colors on press (DSMS style :) ) etc... basically if nothing else Helios is a very convinient way to assign simple actions to buttons AND have a non permanent label near to remind what it is assigned to. besides the profile attached i also started on several other concepts. attempting to draw auto-pilot and and some other controls for FSX since proper interface into FSX is for now does not exist . and another profile for railroad simulator (yes, i love these too :music_whistling: ) what do you think? anyone else does something similar? 1 Anton. cichlidfan Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 If you wanted to fancy up the graphics a bit. An easy source would be web page button graphics. You can get nice pairs of images (for on and off positions). Very cool idea though! ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! Ragtop Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 This is an awesome idea, when I'm not flying, my second display is never used, so something like this would be very helpful! 476th vFG Alumni
