strtok Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 I've been using the fast mission generator lately on medium or hard difficulty and what I find is that the JTAC seems to give me -and- other AIs the same targets. Once I have a target I have about 30 seconds until the AI takes it out and I get the "abort abort abort". On one of the last missions I tried, I had about 4-5 attempts at this until the JTAC had no further tasking. Am I doing something wrong ?:)
Jona33 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 Just the other aircraft hitting your target. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
july865 Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 you may have used the wrong ordinance requested by the jtac. hence the, abort abort abort... tell your Ai to hold weapons or hold at ??? Lane Posted January 3, 2012 Posted January 3, 2012 (edited) No its common in Fast edited mission generator, the JTAC just tell you what it see, but other AI aircraft and Apache attack your target, so the time you are ready to "engage " target ( remark, readback etc ) ", the target assigned is allready in the way to get a missile from an other aircraft or the target is destroyed ( or a part of the group you are assigned to attack )... it can start to be really annoying after the 3th. it seems Jtac communicate only with you ( dont take in account other AI flight, and dont communicate to them he have assigned you this target ) .. At the moment the AI have start an attack ( not forcibly launch a missile ), the jtac pass the target you attack under " not needed, m8, you are too late " . " Abort Abort Abort " ... then he give you a new 9line Edited January 3, 2012 by Lane - I7 2600K @5.2ghz ( EK full Nickel waterblock ) - Gigabyte P67A-UD7 B3 - 8GB Predator 2133mhz - 2x HD7970 - EK Nickel EN H2o block - 2x Crucial realSSD C300 Raid0 - Black Widow Ultimate - X52 -TrackIR 5 - XIfi Titanium HD - Win 7 x64Pro
strtok Posted January 3, 2012 Author Posted January 3, 2012 I didn't use the wrong ordinance, because I didn't have a chance to use any ordinance :) I think Lane is correct. My targets are being hit quickly by the other AI. The problem is that they attack every target the JTAC gives me until nothing is left :)
Spectre_USA Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I have seen similar in campaign missions since 1.1.1.1. Once the target group you are assigned to hit is eliminated, you get the Abort trio, then either a release, or 9-line. I am getting no updates prior to it either. JTAC, while very cool in concept, has always seemed a bit wonky... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] A tale of 2 hogs

JTAC, while very cool in concept, has always seemed a bit wonky... I think this may actually be due to the improved performance of the AI flights. Of course, their superhuman spotting abilities doesn't hurt. It seems to me that all of the AI flights, and my wingmen, are more effective since v1.1.1.1.
