Devrim Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 May be this thread highly unnecessary. But I'm really curious; If I get a second keyboard and plug. Does BS2 see it and can I assing commands for it? However, if your 2nd keyboard is of the programmable variety (Logitech or Razer for example) then you could use the keyboard software to assign functions to it specifically. What is probably more useful than a full keyboard would be a keypad like the Logitech G13 or Razer Nostromo. They take up far less space while still providing an acceptable number (more in the case of the G13) of programmable keys as well as an additional mini-stick. Devrim Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Thank you very much Cichlidfan. Hmm. If 2nd keyboard would be work as I desired, I'd like to position them on my left and right, and assing commands like the order in cockpit. May be 3rd one?... :) Ok, well, I'll take a look at the models you mentioned. Thanks again. Total Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 http://www.piengineering.com/xkeys.php I know folks who have the X-Keys Professional units and love em for their durability and reliability. 1
Devrim Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Thanks Total. It seems X-Keys are really good stuff. Especially, "58 keys model" is great. But I don't think that I can find this products in my country easly. I'll check... Actually, I'll take (loan?) a USB-keyboard of a friend of mine and try something. If it works, I'll buy two keyboards and use stickers on them. :) - I'll live with that until make a good home cockpit. :p Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
pitbull Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Have a look at http://www.hidmacros.eu/. You can plug as many keyboards you want, and assign keystrokes / macros in HID Macros. DCS will see those macros and react accordingly. Devrim Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 I plug two keyboards to my PC. But, BS2 does see them as one keyboard! It's like I have only one keyboard again. So, my thought fails. Then, I've seen Pitbull's message. Thank you very much pal. It seems really helpful for me. I downloaded HIDMacros software. It works perfect actually. But there's an issue that I don't know how to solve; I'm going to explain with example (I hope I can spite of my lack of English lang.) You know, I have two keyboards (left & right) right now. I normally use "1" key on my regular keyboard to press ABRIS's first button. I'll continue to use right keyboard's "1" key to click Abris first button. To test this software; I assinged left keyboard's "1" key to open/close cockpit door (for example). Now; Software still running and I'm in cockpit. When I press left keyboard's "1" key, cockpit door opens AND Abris button clicks at the same time. I think BlackShark keeps reading left keyboard's data... This is a little complex expression I know, but, if you spend your time to understand me, what would you think to solve this conflict? Intel i7-14700@5.6GHz | MSI RTX4080 SuperSuprimX | Corsair V. 64GB@6400MHz. | Samsung 1TB 990 PRO SSD (Win10Homex64) Samsung G5 32" + Samsung 18" + 2x8"TFT Displays | TM Warthog Stick w/AVA Base | VPC MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle | TM MFD Cougars | Logitech G13, G230, G510, PZ55 & Farming Sim Panel | TIR5 & M.Quest3 VR >>MY MODS<< | Discord: Devrim#1068
agrasyuk Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) hidmacros can not trap keys . that means that BS will see both the original key-press and the shortcut assigned. having hidmacros + number of keyboards is quite useless for this sim . Devrim Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 (edited) After ~20 minutes; I couldn't make it. I think you're right Agrasyuk. Thank you for your attention. Ok. I cancel this project. 8) EDIT: I did it in that way: First of all, I have to move/change all key map. I mean, the keys that being used in game must be completely move another "keys with Ctrl, Shift or Alt". So I can use the keys of two keyboards for my desire. Aaah, it's difficult to tell. The question is: is it worth to do it? Devrim Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 HIDMacro doesn't work with BS2. I made a simple macro. When I press "x", program will run a key sequence as LCtrl+a (that means 'select all' you know). It works in notepad but in BS2 game, I can't see anything. I have been trying for four days. Nothing done. So, continue with 1 keyboard. pitbull Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Sorry to hear that!! HIDMacro worked for me in BS1, and also in A10C. I used it with 2 x numpad to act as a UFC. It worked but had to remove some assignments in-game, mainly the view one. No biggy when using TIR though. Was a bit painful, but I managed to see which in-game assignments was interfering with HIDMacros. But I made it work at the end.
