Flacracker Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Instead of the numpad keys. Like a middlemouse click and hold or something?
Nate--IRL-- Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Left Alt-C when in cockpit to toggle mouselook. Holding Middle-click should move the camera Laterally and up and down when in this mode too. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading

Flacracker Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 I am asking because I don't have TrackIR.
cichlidfan Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I am asking because I don't have TrackIR. Apologies, on behalf of the forum, for the unhelpful TIR comments.:) What exactly are you trying to do? Have you looked into using the snap views. Nate's suggestion will make looking around smoother and easier but if you want to get to a particular point-of-view quickly then snap view are probably the best route. I can explain how they work if needed. I can explain how they work if needed. I've been wondering this too. I don't have the money for TIR so I have to use the Hat switch to look around. Kinda annoying when you are doing a cold start. I would like to lets say I hold down the Back button on the mouse and can look around, and then release to click buttons. Any way to do this? EtherealN Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Those who are short on the cash for TrackIR (and I agree it's expensive, but definitely worth it if the money is there), can look into FreeTrackNOIR if you have a webcam available. I believe it should be fully functional nowadays. EvilBivol-1 Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I believe what you're looking for is Nate's suggestion of selecting mouse-pan mode with LAlt+C. In addition, you may find the pan speed options useful. See attachment. - EB [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Nothing is easy. Everything takes much longer. The Parable of Jane's A-10 Forum Rules
rud Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 when I fly with the keyboard and mouse there's no substitute for mouse look. If Alt+C is too cumbersome than rebind it to something else, I usually use space bar (and rebind my cannon to Enter). In mouse look mode you can also hold down the middle mouse button to get movement side to side and up and down, you can even hold down the middle mouse button and scroll the wheel to move forward and backward. It's pretty easy to put the camera right where you want it when you get used to it.
Scoggs Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 So I tried remappin LAlt-C to my mouse... it doesn't work for whatever reason My SpecsAsus Maximus Hero IX Z270 i7 7700k @ 4.7GHz 32GB G.SKILL TridentZ 3700MHz DDR4 EVGA RTX 2080Ti Samsung 960 Evo 1TB M.2 NVME SSD EVGA SuperNOVA 1200 P2 Acer XB270HU 144Hz @ 1440p (IPS) Valve Index OOOOhhh, I wish I had the Alpha of a Hornet!
Nate--IRL-- Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 So I tried remappin LAlt-C to my mouse... it doesn't work for whatever reason Annoying isn't it. It has been reported, but the solution is difficult, due to the way the cockpit view handles the mouse as a device. JS Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I solved it by reprogramming a button on my mouse to output the assigned keyboard control when it's pressed. But that only works if you have a reprogrammable mouse.
