I have a Saitek X52 and recently ran into problems with the profile program forcing me to disable it. This means that I'm now working without SFJackBauer's profile to set the ministick to the HOTAS slew commands. My question is whether it is possible to bind the ministick directly in DCS. Any idea what the ministick axes are called in DCS? In the axis commands screen there are slots for HOTAS slew vertical and HOTAS slew horizontal, but I have no idea which options in the key/button pulldown menu might correspond to the ministick. I have the following to choose from:

JOY_ASLIDER2

JOY_AX

JOY_FRX

Any suggestions?

To the best of my knowledge, I used an X-52 previously, the answer is no. At one time that was the only function I had in my SST profile because I could not figure a way around it.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if there are any other programs besides the SST software that can recognize the ministick and allow it to be used in such a fashion? I'd use the Saitek program except that it for some reason causes major problems on my PC. I've been fooling around with autohotkey but I do not believe it will do the job. Seems like 6 axes is the max it recognizes and the first six on the X52 are stick X, stick Y, stick twist, the throttle and then the two rotary knobs on the throttle.

What problems have you had?

I just got a X52 Pro last week and tried the SFJackbauer profile with the Pro mod. The Saitek SST gave me BSOD "Bad_Pool_Caller". Then I read somewhere the solution is to keep profile names less than 15 chars, so I did a 'save as' to "DCS A10.pr0" and it was fine.

I've since made my own, just posted in this forum :joystick:

You can not use the ministick at all unless you have the Saitek SST software installed and running. It is not a standard dx controller/button/axis and therefor not recognized by Windows or any software/games without running SST.

I found the software to have a really small memory footprint, didn't cause any problems for me. You might want to disable unnecessary sofware when playing, also you don't need to run SST at all times, you can disable it running at win startup using a number of utilities (for instance CCleaner) and just running SST prior to starting the game.

There are two apps actually, default location is something like this:

"C:\Program Files\Saitek\SD6\Software\" SaiMfd.exe

"C:\Program Files\Saitek\SD6\Software\" ProfilerU.exe

i tried to update Saitek Driver and Software and found me in a nightmare: I tried it out like writen in the Post of SFJackBauer (thanks for that great work). As I activate the profil in Saitek Profiler it writes a letters from the Stick (ö , . -). So what to do?
