  1. Same problem here. Works totally random, mostly not.
  2. This is broken for me as well (Win7 x64 Pro). Sometimes but not always switching focus (alt tab) / minimizing all (winkey D) still keeps DCS on top but the Windows taskbar does appear. Clicking on other open apps in taskbar of course does nothing, DCS "window" (it's full screen really) still on top even with focus on other applications. For me it's no big deal but i find it weird that is not consistent. I can usually get normal behaviour after a few tries. It appears to happen mostly if not exclusively in multiplayer.
  3. Thanks for your work, i find this very useful and i'm not even a a n00b shy with the command prompt :). Also nice logical design, gg. fyi for some reason can't add rep to your original post. Probably too much rep already lo/
  4. Lonewolf Callsign: [MercInc] Korn Preferred Side: Red Preferred aircrafts: Mig-21Bis, Mi-8, UH-1H, Ka-50
  5. Startup options: options for engine running starts (i like cold starts but i don't see why it needs to be forced upon people) Map Settings: no aircraft icons visibility aids: no aids Required time to find combat: no guarantee of combat Objectives: simple objectives that require ground attack Weather: good flying weather / mild crosswinds or clouds AI aircraft: a few AI aircraft TS availability: optional I have no problems joining empty maps if i know the missions are somewhat interesting. Which also means must have some AIs.
  6. I can't connect to my buddy's server because of this exact error. Changed the router, repaired game, cleared cache, dmz, changed connection options, nothing works. Finally i gave up, waiting on DCS 2 hopefully with dedicated server. The weird thing for me is that on other servers i have zero issues. I think it must be some sort of network / peering problem. Just can't fix it.
  7. It has two extra wheels (throttle wheel on the left of the stick, x / y trim wheels down / right respectively) which don't change the stick position but the potentiometer position. So the stick doesn't move but if you were to look in game and move those wheels you would see the ingame stick moving. Not that useful imo. Can be used as alternative trimming method or even for planes that don't have eleron / elevator trim.
  8. Is that a Mirage? LE: nevermind, apparently it's a Tomcat.
  9. Not sure i understand your question but if the ingame controls reset when you plug another usb device it has nothing to do with the CH software but with DCS. I have myself a mix of CH and other controllers and never had such a problem; however i'm not in the habbit of unplugging stuff. Hopefully taking care to plug in everything before you launch the game will prevent this issue... but i think what it is is Windows messing up the controllers' IDs therefore causing the game not to recognise them as previously set up. In older versions of windows we had the ability to manually asign a USB controller ID but not anymore... progress :B. Maybe take care to plug them in the same order in the same port every time.
  10. I'm a DRM hater but i think this is the best way to implement it. I only had one problem when the Starforce server were down for a short while and i couldn't activate a new module (i think it was the Kurfurst) for like 10 minutes. Imo this approach with serial numbers and online login is the way to go, yeah i know nobody likes seeing their activation/deactivation numbers go down but even if you use them all you'll get another one after a month. So basically you can upgrade beyond the threshold every month and not even have to worry about deactivation and what not. If you upgrade your cpu more then once a month, i don't know, i guess you can afford an extra copy of your modules :P. I don't see what is the issue, i know starforce got a bad rep (for good reasons) when years ago they messed up big and there still are people who can't get over it but they need to relax. I'm a paranoid mofo but like i said i got no issues, in my oppinion ED are very reasonable, they have tools to unbind/move the keys between accounts so yeah... what do you want? No DRM? I'd like that too* but since it won't happen i'm pretty much happy with the way it is now. It's just straightforward, no 3rd party software running in the background, no nothing, just a simple key check at installation and login for multiplayer, i like it. *but i wouldn't if no DRM would hurt the sales... and it probably would. What i'm saying is: what excessive DRM? The only less obtrusive DRM they could have is no DRM at all.
  11. Best glide ratio is 14 to 1 (@185 knots IAS) according to the rl manual (section 3-3). Therefor in order to glide 12.9nm you need to be at an altitude of 0.92nm (~5600 feet) @185 knots IAS. With your 550 knots TAS you can climb ballistically (ignoring friction) to an altitude of ~12950 feet retaining a speed of 185 knots (TAS), unless i really messed up my calculations due to multiple transformations to metric and back. So even with friction (very significant at high speeds like the initial one) looks to me like you can rather easily reach the required 5600 feet @185 IAS which will give you the necessary height to make that distance at best glide ratio.
  12. Look here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2254875#post2254875
  13. The game doesn't care whether it's called it a HOTAS, a throttle or a stick. They're all controllers and any combination will work just fine. Shot answer yeah, you can do it np. :)
  14. Known issue, fortunately easily fixable: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=127342 Same solution for the 109K.
  15. That's for the E version, with the older sight. There is another for the F but the scan quality is not as good (still perfectly usable) here: http://www.mediafire.com/view/r33oes59v3a2a54/F-86F_Flt_Manual_+_perf_data.pdf
  16. Quick work for myself, posting here since other people are wondering, obviously not very precise.
  17. A quick offset toggle a la Il-2 (Shift F1 :) ) for sure wouldn't hurt.
  18. This same sentence was also present in the middle-June Dora announcement: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=125824
  19. The problem with Saitek is they insist of using pots instead of sensors. And they don't appear to be high quality pots either... so yeah their stuff works fine until the pots die. They only have HAL sensors on the stick x / y axis. And even those have some issues at least with the X52 / X52pro (they are too far from the magnets at center => hardware deadzone). I have an X52 (only ever used the throttle) and had no problem whatsoever on win7 x64. I'm using older drivers however since i'm a firm believer in the "if it ain't broken don't fix it" paradigm. Since these drivers from 2011 (Saitek_X52_Flight_Controller_SD6_win7x64) and software (SST 6.6.6.9) work perfectly i had no reason to update. I actually think the SST software is very easy to use, and you don't even need it if you don't want more advanced mapping. It's really not a must have.
  20. I'm not sure if i understand your question but i'm going to answer anyway :) : yes the profile ("map") is cleared every time you restart your OS. The CMStart application automatically loads the last profile used in CH Control Manager, also puting your controllers into the respective mode (direct / mapped - but since you're using direct mode this does not affect you as that is default anyway). If you need to load different maps for different games you can do that using CHCtlMgr.exe with parameters. So you can actually make a .cmd file which would load the respective profile and launch the game at the same time. Something like start /d "chproductssoftwarepath\" CHCtlMgr.exe "mappath\gameX.map" start /d "gameXpath\" gameX.exe
  21. lol happy to help. You can automatically (re)load your last profile for your CH controllers by launching CMStart.exe from your CH Products software installation folder (default "C:\Program Files (x86)\CH Products\CMStart.exe").
  22. If they work in Windows they work in the game. Myself i only had one minor issue, brake axis inverted, easily fixed in the axis' menu. Make sure the rudder axis is centered in your active profile (CH Control Manager) like in the pic. I have all CH controllers on dx mode as you can see.
  23. Since your fps dropped with the higher (3xmonitors) resolution, obviously the CPU is not the bottleneck. Also... i have a 2500k and fps is fine. Since you noticed yourself that the GPU runs @99% obviously there lies the problem. If you want to be sure just oc your cpu (should go easily over 4GHz) and check the fps... i really doubt you'll see any improvements. I would suggest nVidia as well... however if you can live with your current setup for a while imo you should wait for Maxwell. Not smart to get a new graphics card when they're just about to update their product line.
  24. Korn

    Release??

It's not a group actually but the DCS Warthog page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/DCS-A10C-Warthog/213475292002987 Leatherneck site is not down and has nothing new... Still sais "coming soon".
  25. This is ridiculous, if i would find a mission i liked on a random server (which won't happen since i only play with friends on private servers) i would have zero problems flying it without asking for permission. If somebody has problems with people playing his mission just don't put it on a public server, there you go, problem solved. What's the harm if i play that mission with my mates or by myself? I'm not sure whether IP applies to such a situation, presumably game developers / distributors have this covered legally, but even if it does apply i really don't have any moral problems whatsoever with playing that mission. Taking the content and presenting it like my own, well yeah that's not cool, but simply playing? Let's get serious here... Fly by yourself if your ego is such that people flying your masterpiece without your permission is a heinous crime. :D
