BigfootMSR Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) For those of you who find the training videos a pain to use and remember all the start up procedures, I have created this training mission for you. It follows the steps outlined in the video originally put out by Eagle Dynamics but in the cockpit step by step with highlighted gauges. Please feel free to provide any feed back suggestions, or improvements! Enjoy and I hope this helps get you and flying around faster! I am aware of the difference of 2 of the voice overs sounding different. Primary mic died in the making of this mission. **** NOTE**** Please leave all future comments, suggestions, feed back at this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84612 so that i dont clutter the forums with multiple threads.Thank you for understanding! PeterP Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 (edited) This is really brilliant done !! (even I don't need it any-more) BTW - here is the direct download: KA-50 Black shark2 cold start up training mission This deserves to get bigger attention. (...Maybe post it in the "Community News") I tried to script this kind of mission once my own - and I'm in awe how well you did it ! How many hours did it take you for this? - should be really included into the product! Edited January 20, 2012 by PeterP

But all in all, I would say probably about 20 hours or so from start to finish and working out the bugs. 1 DCS: A10C Warthog JTAC coordinate entry training mission http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/99424/ DCS: Blackshark 2 interactive training missions http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84612

Tehrawk Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Just got around to trying this mission. It really is the best way to learn the start up procedure. I like how concise it is. Once you run through it a few times, and you start anticipating the next steps, it will take roughly five minutes or so to get through it. A great way to learn, and a great way to refresh your memory, for people like me who have been away from the sim for a while. I would love to have navigation and weapons deployment missions done in this manner. Also I agree with PeterP, this has to be included in the next patch!
Markeebo Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Thanks Bigfoot. Great training aid. +1 Markeebo
AlphaOneSix Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Very well done, great training aid. There are a couple of typos, which are not a big deal, really, but one thing I will comment on is that during engine start you mention that the engine RPM will stabilize around 7,000 rpm. The gauge is in %*10, so a "7" on the rpm gauge is 70% rpm, not 7,000. For trivia, 100% rpm for the TV3-117 is 19,537.48 rpm, so 70% would actually be 13,676.236 rpm.

Hehe, I knew that was eventually going to catch somebodies attention. I have that one qued up already as something to change in a future version. I would love to have navigation and weapons deployment missions done in this manner. Also I agree with PeterP, this has to be included in the next patch! I am currently working on a verison of both of these, but will probably be some time before I release them. Lots of triggers and lots of steps to program in the editor. Keep a look out though! Hopefully they will include these in a future patch. Who knows. I have created another thread to capture all suggestions and comments related to the training missions here http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84612 so that i don't clutter the forums with multiple threads.
