Slazi Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I'm thinking about a new stick for BS2. I've thought about the TH Warthog, but.. it costs a fortune. $585 in Japan right now.. Not really feasable. I mainly play BS2, but I might also wanna get into some other games eventually. I sometimes play Arma II and fly helos there too. Any suggestions for a good low / mid price range stick? I guess I also need a seperate throttle control. I wish some company would come out with a BS2 stick.
msalama Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 I just bought a Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X throttle & stick and Saitek Pro Flight rudder pedals for a total cost of approx. 120€ plus postage. The pedals are first class, the Hotas OK for its 30€ price tag. No complaints whatsoever so far... The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
leafer Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 What are you using now? If you can afford it then I'd recommend Saitek HOTAS. ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
spikenet Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 do you have rudder pedals? For a helo they are pretty much a "must have" item. I just got the TMWH, had been using the X52 Pro. No comparison, the X52 just feels like a big floppy "stick" and I wonder how I used them for so long. TMWH are solid, heavy and precise. Take it to a new level. Plus the programming is superior for complex (or simple) as you like. If there's a chance you can wait and get the TMWH then I'd do that.
Slazi Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 No pedals, I sit on the floor while gaming, so it's not really possible. I have a generic saitek stick right now, a $30 dollar thing. It's not too bad actually, but it doesn't really have enough buttons for the shark. Twisting for rudder is fine for me tbh. The WH is always going to be too expensive I think. I don't want to imagine the trouble I would have sending it back if there were any problems with it either. A few suggestions already on this thread for me to look into.
Slazi Posted January 30, 2012 Author Posted January 30, 2012 The X52 sounds like the most likely candidate so far. Thank you for all your feedback! I recently built a new i2700, an SSD drive did wonders for Black Shark II.
Dusan56 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 SSD? The X52 sounds like the most likely candidate so far. Thank you for all your feedback! I recently built a new i2700, an SSD drive did wonders for Black Shark II. Hi Slazi, i think about SSD drive. Let me ask you, do you install only windows or whole game BS is there? Also if you could share some experience, would be appreciated. Thnx in advance.:book:
