How many pilots have weird problems with Saitek and A-10C? Lately, Ihave had way to many problems, and it could be my Saitek is worn out, spiking, but I din't have these problems in my other flight sims.. I have tried profiels with in game controls, in Saitek SST controls, a combination of both, etc.. maybe the cable and plugs have crappy connections, intermittent, or my programming has problems, maybe confilcts..

but I have been programming Saitek sticks for 11 years... and have never had so many problems.. A-10C is not forgiving when the stick has garbage-in/Garbage out..

I really wish I could afford a Warthog stick.. and forgo al the twisted hard programming logic...

but back to reality...

my computer sems to run fine with Black Shark, IL-2, other sims, games, etc..

Core2Dup 3 ghx cpu, MSI Nvidia P7n Motherboard, 4gb ddr2 ram, PNY GTX460 video card, 600 watt psu.. 46" lcd tv with hdmi cable..

but the weird controls problems have me really questioning the ability to fly without a killer setup..

I have bene using some of the Jack Bower in game setup, but had to use some control back ont h e stick that could not be set in the game. The rest can be handled in cockpit or keyboard.. I also have my own profiles I setup to use... I also have a nice gaming mouse..

with Win7 X64, I wonder if they have buggy drivers they gave us for the stick?

I am puzzled why so many problems..

my stick is 4 years old, but only used 3...

any other questining their Saitek ability to handle A-10C... btw, it seems to do better with Black Sahrk, at least with me, also with IL-2 Cliffs of Dover..

Sorry, maybe I missed it, but what exactly doesn't work?

I used an X-52 before and aside from some driver issues that required restarting it or rebooting from time to time, I had no significant problems with it.

some games like this show spiking, where other games show no problems at all.. would think all games would have the spiking,, and the weird thing is, I don't think it has bad pots, just errant signals.. I suspect the cable is bad in some place, not sure where. it's just too hard to track down where...

maybe too many commands, and if there is any delay, two commands may look like one command that has cobined, maing a command that causes bad things...

Maybe in A -10C a split second in delay, or spike causes glitches and bad things to happen..

other flight sims are more forgiving on errant inputs from joysticks..

I just can't do much more..

Don't get me wrong the stick is a good stick, and hasn't been abused at all, but it still is cheaply built, and after a few years, the little errant spikes cause big problems in some flight sims..

I know at least one or two people with the Warthog stick and it sounds like it's built much better..

I know of at least person who is very strong and if a stick were to be weak and break, he would do it by accident' just from crushing it.. on the other hand I am not strong and pretty weak, my health left me weak... so for my stick to feel cheap in my not so strong hands shows it's a weakly built stick and wears out easy and fast..

the little parts, knobs, POV's, and sliders are not built to last.. in the Saitek... and A-10C needs a good stick... Black Shark too.. all good flight sims.. but A-10C is very sensitive to inputs...

IL-2 not as much.. maybe it's coding, maybe the nature of the aircraft,,,..

or just the extremely complex amount of commands needed to run the flight sims..

well, I have flown about one hour without a problem so far,,, I was testing and found a bug, which turned out was already a known bug (different problem...unrelated to this) and my throttle hasn't screwed up.. maybe moving it from the back of the motherboard usb to the self power usb hub fixed my Saitek throttle running amuk...

or, maybe that I abondonded using in game controls and went back to the Saitek SST software contols...

I may never know..

if I can get past all the nightmares, maybe i can actually fly...

I have the exact problems you're describing with my X-52 Pro and have never been able to narrow it down to anything definitive.

I imagine the hardware itself is bad, but I don't really want to spend hours on the phone with Saitek trying to run through a bunch of troubleshooting only to get a refurbished unit which has the same problems.

My next HOTAS will not be Saitek. I've had three and they all eventually end up giving erratic signals and making it virtually impossible to fly.

The stick, throttle hasn't screwed up since I did a few things, but it doens't mean it's totally fixed, but I hope doing the steps I did fixed the erratic throttle jumping up and down...

I made this profile, using Saitek SST software, and only used the A-10C default control settings and what was needed for Saitek X52 Pro and Saitek Pedals with Win7 X64.

I cleaned the PS/2 cable that runs fromt he stick to the throttle.

I plugged the stick and pedals USB cable into a USB self powered hub.

I made a Saitek X52 Pro A-10C profile. This uses Saitek SST software.

The only controls set in game are the default controls, in Sim setting, plus Setting for Saitek Rudder pedals. So, I have only set the Pitch, Roll, Collective, and Rudder.

All the rest of the commands I set are in the Saitek Profile (attached as a download, in a zipped file...).

It goes with wherever you put your profiles depending on your software.

Win7 X64, is what i use is in the User directory and files where the Saitek folder is.. with profiles..

I tried in game controls and wasn't happy with the outcome.

note: this profile is far from perfect, but it works...

feel free to do whatever..
