The CDI scale is +/- 10° in with TACAN selected on the NMSP.

Also, NDB data cannot be displayed on the CDI. The ADF function is povided by the #1 Bearing Pointer only.

If ILS in use, scale is + and - 2.5 degrees for localizer, and + and - 0.7 degrees for glideslope. Is that correct in DCS A-10C?

That's a common simplification. In reality it depends on the facility. Half deflection is 0.12 times the glide path angle for the GP, with no real promises made as to what full deflection really means - they can be significantly non-linear.

For the localiser, the sensitivity is set for full deflection to give you a certain distance to the centerline at a given point on the approach. This means the sensitivity, in degrees per dot, will vary depending on the distance from the threshold to the LOC antennae (which mainly depends on the length of the runway, of course). A shorter runway means a less sensitive LOC, due to a wider course sector.

(A given deflection will give you the same picture at that given distance from the threshold every time - that's the point.)

The approximations are good enough for government work though - but know that they are, in fact, approximations.

I will slot this question here I think. Im doing the nav/landing section and so far the hardest part is learning key board commands

after setting VHF frequency and getting ready for ILS they ask to press the L.ALT+NUM what the hell is that?

It is probably LAlt NUM+, which in turn toggles your Mic Switch forward, allowing you to transmit via VHF1.

uggghh 2 hours lost. My key board and yours are not the same. Your key board shows a "NUM" in the calculator section which mine doesnt have.

The only one I have is the " NUM LK" under the F8 key but it doesnt do anything.

Perhaps I could use the key assigned for the VHF procedure in options + keys but I dont see the procedure there either but then again Im a newb

@masterwon

it sounds as though you have a "condensed" keyboard. do you have your num pad buttons over-layed on your regular keys (7-8-9, U-I-O, J-K-L)?

if so it may be easier to set a new key combination for your mic buttons

System Specs:

Intel i5 2500k OC to 4.3Ghz

16GB RAM

Asus 1.5GB GTX580

H80 Liquid Cooler

Vizio 37" HDTV

Compaq 21.5" Touchscreen

TM Warthog

Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals

Logitech G13
