Decided to do a full start instead of a scramble for change of pace, and recorded it. Just finished adding annotations since the resolution of the recording is too small to see the tooltips.

Went through it pretty slow because i had to keep checking the list (i always scramble start) and am still not 100% comfortable with the ministick mouse on my new (to me) X52

there's numerous cold start videos available on youtube, including an official one from ed already.

i'm not seeing what you're trying to accomplish here.

I think everyone does things differently and it is always good to see how others do things.

@ShuRugal - good effort!

Don't bite ;)

You did a good video and it doesn't matter what others think (good or bad). What matters is you are happy with it.

Nice vid. But compared to other videos, it still needs better image quality. And it would be great if you could use some kind of video editing software to add text, instead of youtubes annotations. It would for sure give you a lot more views and discard of a lot of trolls if you put a little ekstra time and energy in it. Well thats just my thoughts ( btw this is not ment in any negative way)

What cockpit mod are you using?

I'm not, just running BS2

and to everyone else, thanks for the compliments.

Also, to the folks fussing about this not being your ideal of a training video... stuff off. I made the video because i wanted to show off the detail of the simulation to some of my friends who have an interest in such things. I added the annotations so that what was actually happening would be apparent, instead of just a bunch of switches going "click" and then the helicopter starts. I made a thread and linked it here because it is directly relevant to the subject of this forum. If one person here benefited from it, then i am satisfied. if you don't like it, make your own or bugger off.

yeah, i had fraps running at half resolution capture. i'll do another one at some point at full-res. I don't know whether windows movie maker supports adding annotations, but if it does it is guaranteed to be a painful feature to use. I don't see any reason that using the YT annotes is bad, i made sure they are all timed correctly, spaced for lack of clutter, and concise and easy to read. It also gives folks who know what is going on and just want to watch a startup the option to switch them off and view the video as it was shot.

I watched his vid and it looked like he was trying to start the helicopter up. Seemed to go pretty well from what I could see. Did you press the play button? It's the one that's a triangle shape.

Ha ha, you tell 'em :-)

I have half decent video editing software and happy to help you edit it if you like.
