Depth Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 (edited) I really don't trust these things. Could we get some more info than "actually works"? I dunno if that's better or worse than Apple's stuff that "just works" By temporarily shutting background processes and unnecessary Windows services, cleaning RAM, and intensifying processor performance, Game Booster 3 concentrates every little system resource for gaming only.Shuts down processes and windows services, yay. Intensifying processor performance smells like software overclocking to me, setting the voltage too high can fry your processor completely. Says on the site it doesn't overclock but doesn't explain how it "intensifies" your hardware. And "cleaning RAM"? What? But never mind me, the program has been seemingly reccommended by sites such as Ghacks and instalki.pl, so clearly it is something to trust with administrative rights on your system. EtherealN Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Cleaning RAM is, I suppose, meant to mean that it removes unecessary data from memory (though I'd have assumed that this would be included in "shutting background processes"). But I'm also suspicious about what "intensifying processor performance" is supposed to mean. The utility on this in most system is limited though, I would suspect - since most games are still 32-bit, and most systems are 64-bit with 8GB RAM nowadays, it's not like the games are likely to run out of adressable memory. If this is legit, the language seems to have been "consumerised" to the point of being unintelligible. :P It's not like it's impossible for something like this to work, but I personally doubt it'll be noticeable except in extreme cases. Maintain your system well and don't install bloat and you'll be fine anyhow, IMO. And if you have a bloated system, the solution is to remove the bloat permanently, not something like this. Again, IMO.
