Cobra360 Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Some of the people here may have noticed that a lot of the members here have a wealth of military aviation knowledge. It's great to see that people educate themselves in their hobbies. Anyway from time to time a burst of real life information discussion can sidetrack a game topic question. I don't mind these at all as I like discussing real life stuff. But cutting a long story short I would like to suggest a seperate forum for all the military aviation buffs here, myself included. I feel it would benifit the community as well and possibly help ED in their future simulations. I feel some members here may hold back on discussing real life tactics and technology as they may feel it's OT, but in my opionion it's not. I'd like to know what other members here think and what are your views.

Alfa Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 Hi, We have talked about this from time to time, but I personally dont think this is a good idea. The reason is quite simply that I regard this topic to be about as "on-topic" for the general discussion section as they come, and I dont think they can "side track" or clash with topics specifically regarding the simulation....if they do, I would say we have a problem ;) . We have made several sub forums for varies special topics which can be very clearly defined - exactly to keep these from dominating the general discussion area, for which topics on: a). the Lock-on simulation b). real life military aviation ...and their relation belong :) . In this connection I dont regard topics relating to ground- or naval warfare to be "OT" either. So to make a long story short(to use your expression :) ), I really dont see the need for a special forum section for the "military aviation buffs".....thats what the whole forum.lockon.ru is about :) . Nor would I like to see the main "General discussion" area "watered out" and degraded to a "chit-chat" section. Cheers, - JJ.
