I'm having a problem and I wonder if anyone can help me.

During tutorial missions, I am able to start the engines up (using a different key binding than default). This applies to all tutorial missions.

However, in all other missions, I am completely unable to move the throttle forward to spin them up.

Does anyone know why this is?

Try cycling your throttle before doing anything ells. Check options to make sure they controls are properly set.

To whom it may concern,

I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that.

Thank you for you patience.

Well, it's not that. It's that the command that I set as engine start [lctrl + 0] doesn't respond in missions. Is there some checklist step that the tutorial skips over?

Do you engines spool up at all? Or is there no movement at all?

No, outside of training, the throttles do not even move to idle when the keys are pressed. They also do not respond to joystick throttles before engine start in either training or actual missions.

Do you have Easy Avionics on by any chance?

No, I don't.

EDIT: Actually, I did, I just turned it off and it works now. Why is that?

Because there are two different sets of control bindings. One for the Sim-Mode (used in the Tutorial, and should be the preferred anyway) and one for the Game/Arcade-Mode that you then used when doing any other mission.

Disable Game Flight Mode and Game Avionics Mode to have a straight simulation of a real A-10C.

Check the "Use these options for all missions" box to the lower right to fix these settings for ALL missions...

Then look into your control setup. On the upper left there is a pull-down with "Free camera", "game", "simulation" or the like. Choose simulation and define the key bindings for simulation mode.

Boost pumps ok?

throttle on minimal position? (i think this is your pb)

(Right Alt + Home) and (Right Ctrl + Home) for launching the startup procedures of the engines (do it one engine at a time after APU running)
