Eh no worries Daniel, like others have posted... if he's not into it on his own now that you've told him about it then he's just not going to enjoy it. It's a study sim, meaning you have to motivate yourself to learn how to play it.

There are plenty of people within this community that you can enjoy the game with instead.

I tried getting my brothers to play this but it just wasn't going to happen heh, oh well =)

Show him your flying in a multiplayer session. You have many folks and virtual squadrons here. Not to point a finger, but AMVI, Mercs, etc..., are really good.

If he's a POG(person other than grunt), he won't bite the bait.

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Thats a good strategy noc lol, if I'm not flying a practice mission then I'm only on multiplayer missions. Its where the juice is at :pilotfly:

Forget it. They won't bother unless you buy the game for them and even then, more often than not, the game gets very little play time after a few attempts.

There was this guy at work who cleaned our office when I worked nights and he noticed I was always reading something from this site. Also the fighters in people's sigs caught his attention, and told me his brother likes FSX, so, I told him he can have my copy of Rise Of Flight. Turned out his brother barely ever played it.

I'm saying don't force it on people or you'll end up feeling stupid for your effort.

ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P

The biggest challenge is the equipment I think - I've got a few smart friends who would play the game and eventually learn and enjoy the technical hunting aspect which the game offers - but would they enjoy it without a HOTAS/TrackIR/Rudder Pedals? Probably not much, and they sure wouldn't be willing to drop £200 for an X52 and TrackIR setup to enjoy these games properly!

Intel i7 6700k, Asus GTX1070, 16gb DDR4 @ 3200mhz, CH Fighterstick, CH Pro Throttle, CH Pro Rudder Pedals, Samsung Evo 850 SSD @ 500GB * 2, TrackIR 5 and 27" monitor running at 2560 * 1440, Windows 10.

There are cheap joysticks like T. flight hotas x and resources such as freetrack or face track noir.

Yep. I spent ca. 70,- € (Joystick and BS1) and took off.

But once I was addicted, it became really expensive... :/
