i tihnk thats a safe conclusion from what i just looked at on YT but without all the exciting airwaves chatter. not purchased it my self yet. One other interesting aspect is that its fully open to moddability. lots of xml. add units. script independant AI. ....

£14.99 on steam and that includes a free copy of http://www.cota-game.com/ (commander:conquest of the americas)

bought and played a fair bit, its really quite intricate. someone with a good grasp of weapon technology and its implementation to the strategy is going to love this. long and far between naval sim titles are in any form. these devs are cool and need support. and whats more most folks here will seriously love this gem of a title. awesome. buy buy buy.

Ah, no biggie.

Not to be the whining hardcore el33te or something: First I was excited about naval warfare, then I started reading a bit through their forums and my appetite dropped. I would expect a game(..sim) with that graphics to be ultra realistic. Sure if you start comparing with other mediocre rts titles you realize very soon that NW is a step in the right direction. Don't know, it's like the disappointment of what it could have been, is just overwhelming what it has become.

It's my impression from the videos. I'll buy it still. Not just right away because I have already to much installed on my pc.

the hardcore milsim specialist will probally be underwhelmed in this. also the devs dont seem to want to go down the ultra realism route either. but i do get the feeling they want to lay this base down and let those that do want ultra realism to inject that via modding and such. i think its very possible it will turn towards a more overwhelming milsim thing if the right people are attracted.

graphically this can go further, its a unity 3d based project and well given that, its presently underwhelming but its got potential there too. unity3d can be gorge !

I bought it yesterday and gave it a go, if it wasnt so cheap I would complain. Its point and click with limited, very limited, options. The graphics are crap, the sensors (bahaha) are also pants. You cant even place the ships in your 'fleet' so as to protect the carrier, the game usually starts with a few missiles already in the air coming at you so you cant play a strategic game, there seems to be no reason why a missile hits or misses. I would encourage you not to waste your time on this until someone explains where it is going as this game in its current state is crap.

It isnt as good as Dangerous Waters, not even close graphically or strategically, they would have been better taking that to the next level.

My hopes is that this has been released to get money for them to finish the product, but alas, I think they will cut and run or it would have been released as beta.

I have been looking for a decent naval sim, this is not near it yet, not nearly a naval sim or near my expectations (except for the $20 price tag I suppose i should have known!).

V Dissapointed :-(
