A short towed system take short time to turn, and a long take more time. The ship speed affect to them. Stabilization an Bearing Ambigity: a passive towed system has the problem of first detection of a target, that give two bearing. one has the real bearing, the second has mirror of the bearing towed array. To resolve them, the ship need to make a turn and awaiting to the towed stabilized them. the real bearing don´t change, but the mirror change. Harpoon IC sensor modes: I/TARH: Inertial + Terminal Active Radar Homing: The missile flight to the designate point and make a attack profile on LOAL mode how I describe before, the missile descend to attack altitude (see above) and fly direct to the target. Maximun range has 75 Nauctical milles. The Harpoon IC has single seeker capability. The Harpoon IC active seeker has a 3rd generation radar whit a radar azimut of +-45º aperture and detect Large/Medium/Small target at 15 Nm [Nautical Milles]. Small Targets at 6 Nm and Stealth targets at 2.5 Nm. That info has only speculative. Others Harpoon IC features: - Sea Skimmer Missile: el missile flight at low altitude to degrade air radars detection and degrade effectivity of surface to air missiles. - Terminal Manoeuvres: The missile make a terminal manoeuvres to difficult enemy defence ship seekers, the terminal manoeuvres has simulate on DCS:world. - Three Waipoints: Harpoon IC can load with 1 to 3 waypoints to move them ussing inertial to reach them on secuence and finish on the inertial activation point. The Mk-46 Mod 5A has a anti submarine Torpedo equipped with Active / Passive sonnar homming seeker. Mk-46 Mod 5A sensor modes: Active: Terminal Active Sonar Homing: The torpedo search at max speed a target on your search cone by sonar pings and lock them descend to target depth. Passive: Terminal Passive Sonar Homming:The torpedo search at max speed a target on your search cone by ear sound sumerged signatures and lock them descend to targe depth The Mk-46 Mod 5A has dual seeker, but only one can use at one time, setting by the torpedo operator before fire. The torpedoe can set your velocity: 55 Knots to 10 Nautic Miles range or 40 Knots to 16.5 Nautic Miles range. The Mk-46 Mod 5A active seeker has a 3rd generation sonar whit a sonar azimut of +-75º aperture and detect Large/Medium/Small target at 15 Nm [Nautical Milles]. Small Targets at 6 Nm and Stealth targets at 3000 yards on active or 2000 yards on passive. That info has only speculative. Others Mk-46 Mod 5A features: - Maximun depth of operation of Mk-46 Mod 5A has 500 metres depth (speculative). - Shallow waters capable (600 feets depth to surface). The normal operation of O.H Perry has use Mk-92 radar to guiadance surface to air radars, and STIR to guiadance Mk-75 76mm/62 Some issues: - on 2003 UsNavy retired sM1MR SAM missiled, deleted all Mk75 launchers, the Harpoon IC and STIR radars of O.H.Perry FFG, give missiles to others allied countries with operating the O.H. Perry ships or derivates (Spain, Taiwan, Australia, etc).
