Gonzo01 Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 Oil tempture reading ambient temp after start and Oil Pressure reading almost zero. Funny A-10C had the same problem in beta. :)

Gonzo01 Posted May 1, 2012 Author Posted May 1, 2012 (edited) Thanks Panzertard, I checked the list and it said it was completed that was why I posted :) (according to your list three asterisks means completed): "Oil Temperature, Fuel and Oil Pressure Gage ***" Sorry if I read that wrong. Gauge is implemented - the cooling system is not. :) Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
MACADEMIC Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I confirm Oil Pressure and Oil Temperature are not working properly in the Training Lesson - Engine Start (Oil Pressure way below 50 PSI, Oil Temperature never rising to 40 deg). Seem to work in other parts of the game. MAC
nuNce Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Hi there, I would like to ask a question by using this thread. Will oil pressure be correctly modeled? Most simulators just make it rise from not to the correct value. That is incorrect, since with a cold engine (and so cold oil) the pressure after start would be much higher than normal, due to dense lubricant. That's also one of the reasons you need to warm up an engine before taking the a/c for a flight. If you just went full power with cold oil you would blow the engine up, since the pressure would rise to unbearable levels. Atm the oil pressure is reading correctly, but it is not behaving so.

EtherealN Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Still WIP. Was checking since in 1.1.2.0 it pretty much wasn't there at all. :) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Daniel "EtherealN" Agorander | Даниэль "эфирныйн" Агорандер Intel i7 2600K @ 4.4GHz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1600MHz, ASUS GTX 560Ti DirectCU II 1GB, Samsung 830series 512GB SSD, Corsair AX850w, two BENQ screens and TM HOTAS Warthog DCS: A-10C Warthog FAQ | DCS: P-51D FAQ | Remember to read the Forum Rules | | | Life of a Game Tester
nuNce Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Still WIP. Was checking since in 1.1.2.0 it pretty much wasn't there at all. :) Ok, thanks! Keep up with the good work. I've seen you have been paying attention to little details, that made a good impression on me and made me pre-purchase the plane. Personally I love developers that include small quirks and peculiarities (i.e. PMDG or A2A) and I am really looking forward with this product for a proper WWII sim, not just flying wise but also and especially system wise.

Pyroflash Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Will be done soon. I am curious as well, are there plans to incorporate thermal expansion issues? A lot of aircraft engines (Not sure about the one from the P-51D) have issues when descending at idle RPM to a low altitude and then adding power. The cool temps up high will shrink the cylinders and then when power is increased, the cylinder walls will develop cracks. I know this is a very real problem for many pilots of high performance super/turbo charged piston aircraft that routinely fly at high altitudes. If you aim for the sky, you will never hit the ground.
