DCS P-51D Swiss Air Force

Recommended Posts

Hey folks!

Unfortunately the Mustang template is not out know, but I already started to create skins for Swiss Air Force Mustangs.

Switzerland bought after WW2 130 P-51Ds from the United States.

My goals

  • I will create a few of them and make them available under the country "Germany".
  • I'll show you here the progress but I will release them a bit later as a package of a few plane skins.
  • I'll try to give you also a few informations about the planes I release

But now let's start with the number 1...

J-2001

Former "Buzzin' Cuzzin'" from 83rd FS, 78th FG, USAAF

Serial-No: 44-72481

J-2001 to J-2003 were the only planes with different tail markings

merci ^^

how is your progress on this?

Kes problem :-)

I'm still adding more details on the first plane (e.g. Wheel pressure markings)...

But I still have problems with the valid color on top of the engine block. :-(

As soon as this problems are fixed I'm creating more skins...

UPDATE

Thanks to the great skins from Blaze I finally found out how to deal with the specular layer.

So I finalize the skin for the J-2001 and I've started with the J-901 (seen in background).

The J-2001 has now the correct signs (fuel, temp. warning, wheel pressure, ...) as well as the correct size of the wing roundels.

But see for yourself:
