Kenta Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Hello peeps! I'm a little confused. I've seen people write on this forum, that when you buy a steam copy of black shark, you get a CD-key that works with starforce activation, so that you don't need to run the game through steam (which is exactly what I want to achieve). Searching for the CD key in my steam library doesn't show any CD key anywhere. Where can I find the key? Failure is the mother of all success.
Nate--IRL-- Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 (edited) Only for A-10, BS1 on steam did not use starforce - it used steam protection. For A-10 the key is found under the game properties I think. Kenta Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 Now I feel robed for buying the steam version... Failure is the mother of all success.

Kenta Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 I'm trying to install the 1.01c version of the game because I want to try out the interactive missions that came with BS1. You can only get 1.02 on steam. I'll try to copy the folder where I have 1.01c version into the steamapps folder where the 1.02 is and see what happens. Although I think steam won't like it, but maybe it works :) Failure is the mother of all success.
KillaALF Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 The training missions in BS1 could hardly be called interactive, all you could do was hit ESC and take control. You will not miss out if you just watch the videos.
Kenta Posted May 2, 2012 Author Posted May 2, 2012 That I actually did not know, thanks for the info! Failure is the mother of all success.
Private-Cowboy Posted May 2, 2012 Posted May 2, 2012 Am I understanding right, that the steam key for A-10C allows you to install and activate the non-steam version? And therefore will later work with DCS World too?

213 Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 it's like that because blackshark isn't really a dcs product, they intended there to be a blackshark 2. and that's the only one that is truly dcs compatible. on steam, only the a-10 has a working key that can be used under starforce.

VaporFlow Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 Thanks guys. I bought BS2 and I will install it as soon as I get home. This is the only DCS that was lasting in my collection. I get a little upset with the russian systems, but there's nothing imposible. I recently bought the P51 and I now know how to use it, so the BS is my next challenge here.
Private-Cowboy Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I actually enjoyed the russian systems in BS1 and looking forward to BS2. They are so totally different to any western stuff. All pretty much double dutch but fun to learn.
