grant575 Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 I am running bs2 with ch pro pedals. They are not working as rudders, in fact they are not working at all. I can map the toe brakes as rudder input but thats disfunctional to say the least. I have tried everything, including removing ch lua's in folders and clearing any inputs on the ch pedal column in game. My Warthog HOTAS works fine, and dont ask me if it works in a10 as I cant get a10 to work at all(another problem entirely). I have tried the ch manager and get toe brake response and it recognises the rudder but it wont calibrate.??? Windows 7/64 bit
JG14_Smil Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 I believe there is a switch on the Pro Pedals for Flight/Car. It is set correctly?
jimcarrel Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 I had that very problem this afternoon. I had to exit DCS and unplug and replug the USB. Win 10 64 bit Intel I-7 7700K 32GB Ram Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 6gig
Griffin Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Let's try some obvious things. In case you just bought them, check whether they are in direct or mapped mode in CM Control Center. If you are not using a CMCC profile, then set it to direct mode. If the CH Control Manager has problems finding it for calibration, press the rescan button so it won't read "Control Manager Device" but find it as CH Pedals.
grant575 Posted May 5, 2012 Author Posted May 5, 2012 Thanks fellas for the replies. Ok so now I have found that CH manager sees the rudeer function of the pedals as the Z Axis, which is the collective, I can map the collective to another part of the the throttle but I would rather use the collective as the collective. is there any way to get CH manager have the ruuder function in the R Axis??
Melcar Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 is there any way to get CH manager have the ruuder function in the R Axis??Sure - Open CH manager - Open your profile, select the device (in this case the pedals) select the axis you want to change. On the right hand side of The control manager is the "axis settings". You'll have two drop downs: a DX device - and & DX Axis. Simply change the DX Axis drop down to the desired axis. At the same time though - can I suggest an easier way might be to use an already mapped profile? http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/showthread.php?7354-DCS-Blackshark-profile-by-Crunch is the one I use - with a few minor adjustments to fit me a little better. There are a couple others that have been made available you could try out http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?20-Helicopter-Sim-Profiles
grant575 Posted May 6, 2012 Author Posted May 6, 2012 Thanks Melcar for the advice. Got in and had a try, but no matter what I try it shows as the z axix in the calibration screen, also in he axis settings the r axis is grayed out. Man I love this game but I feel like i need a degree in physics to get evrything right so I can actually go in a play it. Its further frustrating seeing I have payed hundreds of dollars for gear to enjoy the experience.
SackDestroyer Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Hey Grant. I have the same setup as you, CH pedals and TM Warthog HOTAS. When I first started the game with my setup it was all wonky, because the game has a tendency to set weird default controls. Make sure rudder functions aren't set to anything on the stick or throttle. Also I don't use any of the software that came with the pedals or HOTAS/throttle, just the stock Windows plug n' play drivers. Sorry I can't be of more help but if you have any questions about my setup feel free to ask. Hopefully you get it worked out because they're nice pedals once you get them going.
grant575 Posted May 9, 2012 Author Posted May 9, 2012 thanks sack, finally got to work by loading a custom profile direct into the game. For some reason the game recognises the z axis for both the throttle and pedals as separate entities, I dont know how or why, dont really care, just glad they are working.
grant575 Posted May 10, 2012 Author Posted May 10, 2012 Using this one sack, works pretty good. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=80980
