According to the manual on page 82 and 83, the open and close positions of the Coolant Radiator Air Control Switch are momentary. The text discussing the Oil Radiator Air Control Switch indicates that they are not momentary.

OPEN. The oil radiator air outlet flap can be opened manually by setting the switch to the OPEN position in case automatic control of the flap fails, resulting in an abnormal oil temperature reading on the Engine Gauge.

CLOSE. The oil radiator air outlet flap can be closed manually by setting the switch to the CLOSE position in case automatic control of the flap fails, resulting in an abnormal oil temperature reading on the Engine Gauge.

However, in the cockpit both are momentary in the open and close positions. It appears that perhaps the switch for the Oil is supposed to latch in both the open and close position.

Note: I am still downloading the new beta release so this is from 1.1.2.0.

EDIT: I forgot. There is no keyboard command for either of these switches OFF position nor is their a 'rotary'command. There are plenty of commands in the lua that are not assigned keystrokes, most notably the systems like IFF that are not going to be modeled (according to the manual), but these do not exist in the list at all. They definately need to be their since they are a bit of a pain to get at (especially the off position since its hot spot is between the switch and the cover).

that is weird.. I mean should they be on or off in under 40 amb temps??? could they be what's causing that?

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

Seems like they are supposed to be momentary switches when pushed left or right. they are modulating dampers. Auto is the only position that is not momentary. IE if the auto positioning fails to modulate the dampers to maintain temperature then you can manually actuate the damper. The damper moves position open or close while holding the switch and stops when you don't hold it. That is desired behavior because not only do you not want it to not overheat but you are also forgetting you don't want to make it too cold. . They aren't supposed to be full open or full close otherwise you'd have no way to regulate the temperature.

The temperature controls/gauges etc aren't fully modeled yet anyways so the switches seem to do pretty much nothing at this point.

Forgive my nitpicking...In the actual aircraft closing the covers forces the switches to the automatic position. This doesn't appear to be happening in the simulation.
