aaron886 Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Thing is, no-one pays for DCS World. The pricetag of DCS World is zero dollars. What people pay for is the P-51D. You can download and install DCS World, and fly the T-frog in it, without paying a dime - indeed, you don't even need to register on the site to do that. :) If I'm honest, I didn't realize it could be downloaded by someone who hadn't paid for P-51. In that case (though perhaps the people complaining don't know that either) I agree.

ErichVon Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 Sorry guys, I'll start first by saying if this post offends anyone then apologies, but it's something I feel I need to say. Quite frankly I'm shocked by some of the posts that are being directed at Ed on here. These Guys and Gals have been working hard, to bring us a fantastic Sim world. Not only have they given time and effort to provide us with one of the best helicopter sims we have ever seen on a home pc. They then turned Round and gave us the best sim I've ever see, the wonderful A10 Warthog. Now not only are they spending time and effort to produce us yet another amazing aircraft, yet to be announced, but we do know it's coming. But not only that, they have also given us a stunning P51 and turned round and made a true effort, to finally bring us one complete world, to allow us to fly all the different aircraft together. Not to mention, the ground units they also producing while all this is going on. But how do some of us at home thank them. No thanks no well done, No we turn round and complain that the FREE aircraft provided dosnt have a clickable cockpit, or Moan because they can't read our minds and pull our dream aircraft out of a hat. Or even moan about them wasting their time producing ww2 aircraft when we have no idea what the long term plan or even resources are. Is it just me, who thinks we should be greatful for whatever turns up. Producers are going away from the pc as it is. We have precious few developers happy to provide us with stunning sims as I'm sure theres not that much money in it. Most places just want a quick buck so just push out tried and tested games. Here we have a producer who not only can produce some of the best sims we have ever seen. They are one of the best teams to communicate with their fans, rather than ignore the forums. So come on guys and gals, while I appreciate those that are vocal in their moaning are in the minority here. I really don't think we have anything to moan about. We need to see just how lucky we are in the way we are treated by Ed. They are like I said one of the best customer focused teams out there. So please rather than complain that our FREE aircraft isn't 3D or your favourite aircraft isn't being produced or even if you don't want to fly aircraft from a certain time frame. Instead of biting the hand that feeds you, take a step back and see what the potential is. If you don't like a said module, well no one is forcing you to buy it. However if you want to support Ed then, buy it and treat the cost as an investment. Hell I don't think I've flown 60% of the aircraft I've bought for ROF. But I love the potential so I invest in the company. Just the same way I do for Ed. So Ed from me, may I say a Hugh thanks to the entire team, and please keep up the great work, although it may not seem it at times. It is appreciated. And for those still here, thanks for sitting and reading this slight rant. Just needed to get it out there. Cheers for listening. Cowboy10uk I thank them by buying the DVDs when I see them at Best Buy, their product by them, so I have a safer backup, than my online downloads. As long as they can stay profitable and stay away from the stock market and get sold, (WebTV as an example) I think their future is going to be awesome. The Black Shark in FC2 is in 3D on my system and it is pretty good. 3D doesn't seem to function in BS2. I have not tried it on the A-10C, yet. I have the Nvidia 3D Vision 2 wireless glasses kit and a dedicated 3D monitor from Alienware. I am surprised Eagle Dynamics sell their products as cheaply as they do.

I chalked most of the whining up as being from kids with no experience in the real world... The rest is from narcissistic know it all's who think they are smarter than the ED team and wanna make sure the rest of the world knows it. Thanks ED team. From the bottom of my heart. Cholerix Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 If you take a look at other forums, there is even less praise but more complaints and a lot of times hate. I don't want to say that ED should be glad that they get hate sparsely but what we can learn from that is that the ones who are content voice their opinion less often. The players who come to the forums need help, are disappointed in some way or are just too stupid to appreciate what they get (for free in the case of the SU-25). Unfortunately the last case is quite frequent these days and sticks out in a negative way.

MTrenda Posted May 9, 2012 Posted May 9, 2012 Thanks to WAGS and his team for a job well done Wags, I have to say thank you for all the hard work that has gone into the DCS series. Every night I am flying the A-10c and just reciently the P51D, so much the wife ready to pull the curcuit breaker. i have enjoyed the falcon series from the beginning and the janes series was a blast but the time and effort you have put into the dcs has really taken the simulation to a new level. I didn't think I would enjoy flying the slow, clumsy hog until i jumped into one and ran through the training videos. When I launched my first maverick and took out my first tank, i was hooked and new I would be at my computers for way to many hours. I then starting looking at the mission editor and modifying other peoples missions. I am amazed at the flexibility that the mission editor allows. It allows so much more then the sims that proceeded it. Now you have centralized the map and modulized the aircraft the gates are open for incredible things for the future. The changes that you have made and the road map you have laid out makes me check your forum daily for 'what's next?' Will one of the cumminity modders come out with a killer addon, will a mission builder put out another outstanding mission of his own creation. I thank you for allowing you system to be flexible enough for us to participate in the creation of your products. I also thank you for having a vision and ear for this community, keep up the good work. Thanks to all the developers, testers, and staff and community for making an excellent, detailed simulators. Your sim gave me the oppurnity to meet some really good friends online and in person that i would not have had a chance to meet. Keep up the great work...
